Taiwan again has a local case of new crown Taipei stock market slumped 207 points

Taiwan‘s Central Epidemic Command Center said Tuesday (Dec. 22) that there are four new cases of New Coronary Pneumonia, three of which are imported cases from the Philippines and one is a contact of a New Zealand airline pilot who contracted the disease recently, which is another local case in Taiwan after 253 days.

The epidemic commander, Minister of health and Welfare Chen Shih-chung, reminded that the pilot of the airliner had visited some shopping malls from December 8 to 11, and people who visited these places during this period should carry out independent health management.

As for the new local cases are the employees of the enterprises related to Quanta Group, a major notebook computer foundry, Quanta said that there is no problem of work stoppage and the follow-up will fully upgrade the group’s epidemic prevention measures to protect the health of employees.

Hit by the re-emergence of new local cases, the Taipei stock market fell heavily in late trading on Tuesday, plunging 207 points, or 1.44%, to close at 14,117.46 points.

According to the Taiwan Central Epidemic Command Center, a total of 770 cases have been confirmed, of which 675 are imported from abroad, 56 are local cases, 36 are related to the Navy’s Dunmu ship infected with the disease, 2 are infected via aircraft, and 2 are of unknown origin.
