CNN reporter: Powell left the White House on Sunday to dislike reporters pestering

President Trump‘s team continues to lay out the groundwork to fight back against election fraud, and a White House meeting on Friday (18) made some mainstream media quite nervous. A CNN reporter said attorney Sidney Powell left the White House Sunday evening and refused to answer follow-up questions from reporters.

On Sunday night, CNN White House correspondent Jeremy Diamond tweeted that he saw attorney Powell leaving the side of the White House residence near 9 p.m. that night. According to Diamond’s account, Powell denied having met with the president that night when the reporter approached her with questions. The reporter continued to press the issue and she responded, “It’s none of your business.”

Diamond called Powell a “conspiracy theorist” in a tweet. Some mainstream media outlets have categorized information about election fraud and allegations of corruption in politics as “conspiracy theories. However, the intense attention and speculation about the White House gathering suggests that the media are also interested in “conspiracy theories.

On Friday, the media reported that Powell and General Michael Flynn attended a White House meeting that night, where the imposition of martial law, the seizure of voting machines by executive order and the appointment of Powell as special counsel to investigate fraud were discussed and some arguments took place.

Later, Trump himself responded to the matter in a tweet, stressing that the so-called “martial law” is pure “fake news”. Attorney General William Barr then responded suspiciously, saying that there was indeed fraud in the election, but he did not intend to appoint a special prosecutor to investigate.

In addition, claiming to have participated in Friday’s White House meeting of the e-commerce giant Patrick Byrne (Patrick Byrne) also said that the meeting definitely did not discuss martial law, but Powell and General Flynn proposed a number of other options with a better chance of winning. However, some senior White House advisers opposed these programs and tried to mislead Trump not to do anything.

The reason why some mainstream media are so concerned about the topic of “martial law” is that, in addition to General Flynn’s previous public calls for military options in Newsmax, it is also believed to be related to the Department of Defense calling off the handover to the Biden transition team.

Some mainstream media outlets reported last week that Acting Defense Secretary Chris Miller had ordered the suspension of the transition between the Defense Department and the Biden team. The Defense Department later responded that it had agreed with the Biden team to suspend the transition for two weeks over the Christmas holiday because of the need to focus on epidemic preparedness. Members of the Biden transition team denied reaching a consensus with DoD and demanded that DoD resume the transition immediately.
