UK alarmed by variant of virus Tanduse: no evidence of increased mortality

The emergence of a variant strain of the Chinese Communist virus in the United Kingdom, which is up to 70% infectious, has triggered panic in various countries, which have announced a ban on flights from the UK. However, World health Organization (WHO) Secretary General Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus said there is no evidence that the variant virus is causing serious illness or increased mortality.

According to current reports from the United Kingdom, mutated strains are more likely to spread, but there is no evidence yet that mutated strains lead to increased severe illness or mortality.

Tandse added that efforts are still needed to curb the spread of the virus, which requires the cooperation of the government and the public, stressing that the higher the level of transmission of the virus, the greater the probability of mutation of the strain.
