Wistron’s Indian factory was recently involved in a riot in which the plant was vandalized and thousands of iPhones were stolen, which was thought to disrupt Apple’s “Made in India” plan. But now there is news that Apple’s other supplier, Hon Hai Foxconn, is about to test-produce iPhone 12 in India and is expected to be officially launched in the next two months, unaffected by the Wistron incident.
According to Indian and Chinese media reports, Wistron is only part of Apple’s “Made in India” plan to get rid of its dependence on China. While the iphone 12 Mini made by Wistron’s India plant is likely to be delayed due to the riot, the iPhone 12 made by Foxconn’s India plant will not be affected and will start trial production soon, and is expected to be available within 2 months.
Analysis of the reasons behind, in addition to Foxconn India factory is located in Tamil Nadu province (Tamil Nadu) in Chennai (Chennai), more than 300 kilometers away from the Wistron plant, the staff structure is also one of the reasons. Josh Foulger, general manager of Hon Hai India, has said that the Chennai plant employees are mainly women, they have goals, work seriously and know how to cherish, is the key to maintain stable operation of the plant and conducive to future expansion of production.
