Recently, Jiangxi, Guangxi, Chengdu, Xi’an and other places have received emergency notices to restrict electricity consumption and shut down all factories, and government agencies have also received notices to restrict electricity. on December 19, the State Grid Hunan Electric Power entered a full “war time state” on the grounds of a record high electricity load. The power restrictions have seriously affected the lives of residents.
According to the official website of the State Grid Corporation of the Communist Party of China on December 19, since the beginning of winter, the maximum load of the power grid in Hunan has reached 31.5 million kilowatts due to multiple factors such as sudden drop in temperature, heating for residents and a significant rise in industrial electricity consumption, which is a record high in winter electricity consumption.
The news said, in the face of the severe power supply situation, State Grid Hunan Electric Power entered into a “war time state” to cooperate with government departments to carry out orderly power consumption work, arrange grid scheduling to ensure reliable power supply and smooth operation of the grid.
Not only Hunan, since December, Jiangxi, Hubei, Guangxi, Hebei, Chengdu, Chongqing, Xi’an and Beijing and other places, said the highest electricity load hit a record, requiring the orderly use of electricity work.
Among them, many factories in Zhejiang, Inner Mongolia and Jiangxi reflected that they received an emergency notice requiring all processing plants to stop production from December 16 to 31, and government agencies also received a notice requiring that air conditioners should not be turned on when the temperature is above 3 degrees.
Hunan Huaihua, Yongzhou and other places, since December 5, has officially launched the orderly use of electricity. Zhejiang Yiwu, Hunan and other places in the network platform exposure, their own business received a notice from the relevant management departments, said the power gap is large, requiring power restrictions, shutdown and production restrictions.
In addition, vendors gathered in Yiwu, Zhejiang Province, the local officials have issued “open three stop one”, “open two stop two” or even “open one stop four” mandatory power restrictions on enterprises. All over the power supply, in addition to the serious impact on business operations, but also affect the lives of residents.
Some netizens said, Zhejiang, a number of cities to limit electricity, all the street lights are closed at night, into the night after a dark; Changsha, Hunan Province, many districts were pulled after the power supply, some office employees need to climb twenty to thirty floors to work.
Other users said that hospitals in many places also lost power at night and it was chaos. Suddenly unconscious patients, the rush to do CT, and changes in condition, novice nurses affected by power outages, can not play into the needle. Backup electricity is too important.”
Electricity restrictions across China have sparked strong public discontent. The public mostly believes that it is related to the CCP’s suspension of Australian coal imports. In the face of strong public discontent, the National Development and Reform Commission (NDRC) issued a statement on the evening of the 17th, directing the cause to the so-called “economic recovery”.
According to the NDRC’s list of three specific reasons for the power restrictions.
First, the rapid recovery of industrial production is driving the growth of electricity consumption. The second is the extreme cold weather that has further increased the electricity load. Third, the limited “external power receiving capacity” and unit failure in Hunan and Jiangxi provinces made it more difficult to maintain power supply.
Although the Communist Party of China Development and Reform Commission deliberately stressed that Hunan, Jiangxi and other places “coal transport distance, limited external power capacity”, but the Central News Agency said, the Communist Party of China did not explain why Zhejiang, located near the sea, coal transport is not a problem, there will be a shortage of electricity.
For China around the power limit, a mainland analyst believes that China around the power limit is due to the lack of coal and carbon resources in central China, coal prices are the highest in the country, the local lack of new coal power plant power, and the local is located inland, wind power and solar energy resources are limited. Local power sources are expected to have limited room to increase, and power supply may remain tight in the future.
There is also news that power restrictions everywhere are due to the recent announcement by the Russian power company that it will stop supplying 3 billion kilowatt hours of electricity to China. This is an aggravating situation for the economy and people’s livelihood.
The Chinese Communist Party is said to have purchased coal from Indonesia, and from Outer Mongolia, but the coal purchased is for next year. So in this coldest winter month, I am afraid that the life of Chinese people will be greatly affected.
