Donald Trump Jr., Trump’s eldest son, spoke at a Catoosa County, Georgia, electioneering rally on Dec. 19 afternoon, urging voters to cast their ballots for the Jan. 5 Senate runoff election.
Donald Jr. urged voters to not only go to the polls, but to vote early and call friends to vote with them.
Donald Jr. said, “Don’t waste this opportunity or you will surely regret it.”
He stressed the importance of Republican candidates Loeffler and Perdue winning because of the ability to stop some (leftist) Democrats from pursuing socialist policies. “It’s at stake now, for ourselves, for our families, for our freedom.” He said.

The Senate has a total of 100 seats, of which the Republicans currently have 50 and the Democrats 48. If the Democrats gain 2 seats in Georgia, it will create a 50-50 tie, at which point the decision will be made by the Vice President.
Early voting is currently underway in Georgia. According to the Secretary of State’s office, 168,000 people went to the polls to vote in person on the first day of early voting (Dec. 14), and 314,000 people voted by mail that day.
As of Dec. 18, a total of 1.1 million people had voted for the Senate runoff election in Georgia, according to the Georgia Votes website.
President Trump tweeted on the evening of Dec. 19 that he will be in Georgia on Jan. 4 for a major electioneering rally that night. It will be the second time since Election Day on Nov. 3 that Trump has gone to Georgia to campaign in person, the last time being on Dec. 5.
