Israel announced Dec. 20 that it will ban foreigners from Britain, Denmark and South Africa from entering the country. Israeli authorities also announced strict rules for Israelis returning from those countries, saying they will be confined to hotels controlled by the military and used as quarantine centers, the prime minister and health minister said in a joint statement.

The British government announced an emergency announcement to raise the level of prevention and control of the new crown outbreak in London and other parts of the capital from the early hours of the 20th, and canceled the original plan to ease restrictions on the movement of people to and from most parts of England during the Christmas period. Explaining why the epidemic prevention policy suddenly changed before Christmas, British Prime Minister Johnson said, “When the virus changes the way it attacks, we have to change the way we defend ourselves as well.”
Since the early days of the outbreak in February, Israel has accumulated 370,000 confirmed cases; deaths have been modest, at more than 3,000. Since the rebound of the epidemic in September, the country has been under a second “foot ban. After the recent relaxation of epidemic prevention measures, the number of confirmed cases is on the rise again.
