The New York Times reported Friday (19) that the White House had met to discuss options such as martial law and control of voting machines, and that Trump was considering appointing barrister Sidney Powell as special counsel to investigate election fraud.

The newspaper quoted sources as saying that Trump discussed the appointment of Powell as special counsel to oversee the investigation of election fraud at a meeting on Friday. Trump preferred to appoint her as special counsel at the Justice Department, but the discussion at the meeting advocated that she only serve as special counsel at the White House.

The meeting was attended by General Flynn and senior White House administration officials, and Trump’s personal attorney Rudy Giuliani also participated in the discussion via telephone.

The report said the idea of Trump considering appointing Powell shook the White House. The meeting was hotly debated. Powell’s lawyers accused some of Trump’s advisers of having “no end in sight.

General Flynn recently urged Trump on Newsmax TV to impose martial law and deploy the military to oversee new elections in swing states. At Friday’s meeting, Trump also asked about this idea, which caused some more controversy.

Also discussed at the meeting was the implementation of an executive order to control and inspect voting machines. Giuliani urged the Department of Homeland Security to take control of voting machines in order to expose election fraud. He has discussed the matter with top DHS officials in the past week.

Prior to that, Trump’s legal team had cut ties with Powell. But the Trump team’s lawyer, Lin Wood, continues to work closely with Powell on a personal basis.

Powell has previously fiercely accused the Chinese Communist Party and other foreign powers of rigging the U.S. election through the Dominion voting system. She has recently received a threatening letter from Dominion.

Both attorney Lin Wood and General Flynn advocate using strong-arm tactics to overturn election fraud and preserve American democracy and freedom. General Flynn told Newsmax that the Martial Law Act has been implemented 64 times and that Trump has sufficient options to maintain the integrity of the election.
