Across the United States, people are getting ready for Christmas and the New Year

People across the United States are getting ready for the coming Christmas and New Year. This year, because of COVID-19, people have to be more creative in their celebrations.

First Lady Melania Trump visited the National Children’s Hospital in Washington on Christmas Eve to extend holiday greetings to children. The first lady’s visit to a children’s hospital during the year-end holiday season is a 70-year tradition. Because of the COVID-19 outbreak, most children were in their own hospital rooms listening to Melanie Trump read children’s books and interacting with her.

The small town of Stockbridge in Massachusetts is famous for its paintings by The American painter Norman Rockwell. Although the painter died many years ago, his Christmas lights and wreaths are still everywhere in the town.

“Normally at this time of year you would see elk and carols in the street,” ballot said. We can’t do that this year. This year was a little quieter than usual, but there were still a lot of people. Lots of people from all over the world.”

In Los Angeles, California, which has been hit hard by the COVID-19 outbreak, a light show has been set up just before Christmas to allow people to enjoy the holiday lights in their cars. Founder Garson Smith says many visitors tell him the show gives them a chance to spend time with their families.

“People have their own holiday traditions,” he said. These traditions have been affected by the epidemic this year. We hope it will make people forget everything for at least half an hour and be happy.”

Organizers say about 180,000 people have come to see the show so far.

Because of the COVID-19 outbreak, Santa Claus in Seattle, northwest America, will have to get creative this year to bring festive cheer to local children. Dennis Kamis, also known as The Seattle Santa, has set up a spherical plastic tent on the street. He interacts with children in what looks like a snowball’s tent.

“I saw a local AD that said it would cost $50 to take a photo with a Santa Claus wearing a face mask,” he said. It gave me an idea that we should never do this when a lot of people are in trouble. I wish I could help.”

Camis has dressed up as Santa Claus for 15 years. He is usually hired to act as Santa Claus at private events during the holidays.

He says he donates a portion of his earnings to charity every year. This year, he will reach out to several families in dire need.
