French President Emmanuel Macron was confirmed to have the Chinese communist Party virus (WUHAN Pneumonia, COVID-19) on Monday. A self-imposed quarantine has been announced after he met with a number of heads of state and Eu officials over the past 14 days.

France is one of the European countries hardest hit by the communist virus. French President Emmanuel Macron has tested positive for the Communist Party of China virus, his office said Tuesday.

The Elysee said Macron had been tested after developing symptoms and said he would remain in isolation for seven days while continuing to work.

French Prime Minister Jean Castex will also be quarantined and tested because of his close contact with Macron in recent days, his office said.

Macron attended a conference on humanitarian aid policy by video link and spoke for more than 10 minutes. French Foreign Minister Jean-Yves Le Drian and other participants attended the video address at the main venue of the meeting at the French Foreign Ministry.

Mr. Macron’s speech was broadcast live on French television. Macron reportedly wore a protective mask and no tie throughout the speech. In his speech, however, he made no specific reference to his personal situation.

On Monday night, French government spokesman Jean-Pierre Attar disclosed the specific symptoms of Macron’s illness on behalf of the government. He said Macron had a “cough and severe fatigue” but was still able to attend many events via videoconference.

Attar revealed that he felt symptoms late at night on the 16th and immediately put himself in self-quarantine before being tested positive for the virus. French politicians, including Prime Minister Manuel Castellan and Parliament Speaker Francois Fillon, were quarantined after meeting macron for dinner on Saturday.

Macron has had a hectic schedule for the past two weeks, with multiple events each day for the past three days.

Reuters reported that Macron had met in Paris in the past two weeks with Egyptian President Abdel Fattah al-Sisi, Spanish Prime Minister Pedro Sanchez, European Council President Charles Michel, Portuguese Prime Minister Antonio Costa and others.

Macron also traveled to Brussels for an eu summit on December 10 solstice 11. Several European heads of state attended the summit, but Estonian prime minister JuriRatas and Croatian prime minister Andrej Plenkovi were absent.

German Chancellor Angela Merkel, Dutch Prime Minister MARK RUTTE, Belgian Prime Minister Alexander De Croo, Italian Prime Minister GIUSEPPE CONTE and European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen were among those present.

Sanchez, Deklow, Costa, Cascotes and Michelle are all in self-quarantine. French Prime Minister Francois Castell has tested negative and other leaders are still awaiting test results.
