Poet Louise Glück has won this year’s Nobel Prize for Literature.
The Swedish Academy praised Glück’s “undeniable poetic voice, which makes the existence of the individual universal with its simple beauty.
Gluck is the author of 12 books of poetry, and her previous awards include the Pulitzer Prize and the National Book Award.
The literary prize is one of a group of Nobel prizes announced this week. Each Nobel Prize carries a $1.1 million prize.
