In an exclusive interview with Breitbart News, former Secretary of State Mike Pompeo was asked about his advice to Republicans, and Pompeo offered the advice that Republicans in Congress, state legislatures across the country and governors across the country fight Democrats as hard as they can and “never give in” on anything.
Pompeo explained, “Never give in. This is a fight for the soul of America, and the future of our country. It’s about preserving our republic and protecting America from the onslaught of liberalism, of progressivism. “
Pompeo, who is campaigning nationally with Republican candidates to take back majorities in both houses of Congress in the midterm elections, said he believes conservative ideas will ultimately win out.
Pompeo said, “I value America. I believe in conservative ideas that I have fought for for a long time, long before I became a member of Congress. The idea of conservatism is the right one, and the American people at large understand that. I hear it all the time. Voters liked the policies of the previous administration and liked that we had the ability to push those policies. “
Pompeo emphasized, “I’ve been out there campaigning for a group of candidates, and I will continue to do so. We need to make sure that the Democrats stay in power for as short a time as possible and that conservatives get elected across America as quickly as possible. I believe that’s going to happen. We have to choose that. We have to execute this. We have to make this happen. So we need people who will fight hard and never back down, who will act in a way that will bring good results for all ordinary Americans. I believe that will happen, we just need all of us, us principled conservatives, to do things in a way that is fearless, bold and clear.”
