First, the opportunity itself implies the occasional factor
When it comes to opportunities, we usually refer to those fleetingly favorable conditions and situations. When a good opportunity comes, it is as if the time, place and people have come together. So, we will countless times lament that we have done a lot of hard work and are only one chance away. We may also be envious or jealous of other people who have good opportunities.
If you focus only on the success that everyone can see to get ahead, the opportunities look limited – I have seen a book that metaphorically says this with its meaningful title, “There is only one number one”. Nowadays, the definition of success that attracts attention is often very narrow, so there are not many chances of success at the beginning: in school, there are dozens of people in each class, and even if everyone works equally hard, there can only be one first place in the end; in organizations, from the grassroots to the top, the number of people is generally in the shape of a pyramid, and the higher up the hierarchy, the fewer positions, and there are far more people looking forward to promotion than can be promoted to a higher position. In the public space where people gather and people are crowded, there are few people who can instantly get the attention of all the people ……
The original strength, quality, performance is very different from the people, why people can go up you can not go? You may attribute it to: I’m just a chance away. Many times, we think we can get the opportunity with the person’s background, beauty, will come to things, and so on, and all of these are not related, that is extraordinarily lucky, God’s favor.
However, opportunity itself implies an element of chance. If you look at the situation of others and yourself, if you only see that he was lucky and got the opportunity, I was unlucky and did not catch the opportunity, or put your hope in the unpredictable timing, it really does not help your own growth or success. There have been countless people have said similar words: only know wait for the opportunity or even complain about not waiting, is the weak, strong people will take the initiative to create opportunities.
The strong will take the initiative to create, no longer rely on the vagaries of external conditions, not passively wait, not irritable and depressed complaints, but to put their own goals, choices, willingness, courage, enthusiasm, strength, flexibility and adaptability are put into the interaction with the surrounding people and environment, in the change of the opportunity needed to win.
When someone continues to do this, in an effort to find and create opportunities, but also strive to cultivate internal skills to improve themselves, you will gradually find that even if they fail once or twice, as long as they do not encounter too bad circumstances (such as natural or man-made disasters), such people can sooner or later achieve things. They do not need to rely on the timing of chance, do not need to lament the bad luck, for their increasing strength, something is inevitable.
When you expand your horizons, to all the conditions conducive to the achievement of their own, enhance interpersonal relationships, improve the situation are seen as opportunities, including those that fall from the sky, including their own initiative to fight to create, that opportunity is very much. At this point, it is still worth noting that a change of vision – the same conditions, some people see opportunities, others only see problems and obstacles. As an old story goes: Two salesmen, both selling shoes, went to visit the same virgin land. One comes back frustrated and reports that there is no opportunity, no one wears shoes there. The other one came back excitedly and reported: There is a great opportunity for growth! No one there has shoes yet!
Of course, the great opportunity that the latter sees really needs to be realized, at least to find out who have the corresponding purchasing power or potential purchasing power, in addition to being psychologically prepared, and it takes a little time to cultivate the market. In any case, having a good eye for identifying and capturing opportunities is more likely to lead to success and happiness in the long run.
Good vision includes knowing exactly where you’re going, and when the goal is clear, you can both save time and do only what aligns with it, and have the opportunity to turn every experience into a stepping stone to get closer to it. Many people are faced with another layer of confusion, not the lack of opportunities, but rather a lot of choices, can not recognize which is really a good opportunity.
Two years ago, I heard the experience of an entrepreneur. It was a woman who had already succeeded and become famous in her field, and when she went into business in her middle age, opportunities to work with her came from all directions. After spending a lot of time trying to figure out which were the good opportunities, she suddenly realized one day that it was important to know where you were going and what you really wanted first.
When you have a good enough vision, know what you want, and focus on what you can decide and choose to influence, there is no worry that opportunities will not appear. All you need to do is live a healthy life, do what you love (whether that can be a job or always a hobby), be kind and genuine with your friends and family, learn to recognize the beauty and sparkle in yourself and others, and discover, create and enjoy the pleasures of everyday life …… One day, opportunities will come knocking.
It can be said that every day is giving you a brand new opportunity to know yourself better, live yourself, learn to love more and more, and also let yourself live in love.
Second, all kinds of opportunities like waking up from sleep
Kiki, who teaches Chinese in Australia, recently said in an email that after three years of experience as a foreign Chinese teacher, she had recently gotten several wonderful opportunities that she had only ever dreamed of. But before, her qualifications were too shallow, and she only stood at people’s doorsteps and drooled over them. But now, when she is trying to overcome all the difficulties to reach the third year, all kinds of opportunities are lining up to her like she just woke up.
She told me that a job, no matter how open the industry is, no matter where your workplace is, there are possibilities everywhere. So, my dear, whether it’s a fork in the road or a sunny road, it’s important to take it seriously.
It is certainly hard to stick to something seriously, especially when you meet difficulties. For example, I myself, from the internship to the official work, engaged in the PR industry has been a full five years, in the middle can not always be so smooth, also had vowed, determined to quit, too tired. In those days, I did reports every day until I was sick. Once I wrote several press releases in a row, and at the end of the day, I was so nauseated by the computer screen that I wanted to vomit. Every day, I had to face intense pressure and work late.
But whenever there is a little progress, such as this will write, that will also do, meet a lot of people if you do not go to work will not know, see the industry’s very bull predecessors to make a beautiful case, or will slowly convince themselves to persist, persist a little more, so give up is really a pity.
Occasionally I would help my friends to come up with an idea, think of a plan, or write something, and I would always get appreciation from the other party, praising me for being professional and standard. Whenever this happens, I think about the goodness of the company. Although it was hard and difficult for me, and I was so stressed that I couldn’t sleep, when I think about it, these years of professional training turned me from a wild child who didn’t care about anything, who wore clothes and talked nonsense, to a working person who had edges and corners to do things and spoke with style.
A friend of mine jumped jobs frequently, once every six months, for the reason that he didn’t like it anymore. As a result, jumping around, the work content basically did not change, has always been not like. I did not say anything, just a little anxious for her.
I remember when I first started working, I also felt disdain for many things, I thought everything was very simple, I thought I should be very capable, spent so much money and time to learn this and that, education, school, background, English which is not bad, the result ran to the multinational companies to deliver the courier, drawing tables, counting numbers to come. At that time, like many people, I thought I should be able to negotiate a business, or to lead a few people to do a project.
When I was looking for a job, I submitted three resumes, and I was successful in all of them, getting offers one after another, and finally jumping from job to job. I drew forms and made phone calls for two months at the first company, and drew forms, made phone calls and wrote PPTs for five months at the second company. I thought I could have something advanced to do in the third company with my 7 months of multinational experience, but it turned out that I was not solid in anything. I didn’t know what to say at dinner with my colleagues, and always ate in silence; I didn’t know what to say when I talked to the media about cooperation, and always stared and listened; I couldn’t even grasp the key points when I went out to argue, and I forgot what the arguments were when I argued, without any logic at all.
Only by starting from scratch can my little heart with low self-esteem step down a little. So I drew tables and wrote PPTs again, and only after 6 months did I declare a solid transition into the job and start doing projects.
As the days went by, and I persisted for a long time, I was naturally able to make something special and good at it, so the opportunities were everywhere.
When I began to have the ability to extend to more and broader and deeper places, I saw more and more of my own shortcomings, and then I had a stronger and stronger desire to learn. I like this feeling of humility, subconsciously allowing myself to go further, to seize more opportunities, to touch more possibilities everywhere.
I enjoy the feeling of emptying myself of learning and moving into a larger and larger world. The prerequisite for all of this is these years of hard training and cultivation, and I hope I can take it seriously. For the sake of the future that I don’t know yet, and for the sake of all the ideals that foolishly stand in my heart that won’t go away.
