Taiwan Central Epidemic Command Center announced today that 295 new domestic cases, 286 local cases, 63 cases of unknown association, cases of residence in 10 counties and cities across Taiwan, still more in New Taipei City and Taipei City; the other 9 cases are imported from abroad. The other nine cases were imported from abroad. There was one new case of death, and 15 people died in total.
According to the Central News Agency today quoted Taiwan Epidemic Command Center Commander Chen Shih-chung said in a press conference this afternoon, today’s new 286 cases of the new coronavirus local cases of 155 men and 131 women, aged between under 5 years old to more than 90 years old, the onset of the day between May 1 and May 19.
Chen Shizhong said that the county and city of residence to New Taipei City 157 cases, to Zhonghe District 40 cases, followed by Taipei City 87 cases, to Wanhua District 40 cases, Taoyuan City 17 cases, Yilan County 8 cases, Changhua County 6 cases, Keelung City 5 cases, Kaohsiung City and Taichung City 2 cases each, Hsinchu City and Yunlin County 1 case each.
Chen Shizhong said that among the 286 new local cases today, 84 cases are related to the history of Wanhua activities, 60 cases are related to tea houses, 7 cases are related to Lions Clubs, 4 cases are related to grape merchants, and 2 cases are related to amusement parks. There are 63 cases of unknown association, 38 cases of other known sources of infection, and 28 cases in the epidemic investigation. The related epidemic investigation continues.
Chen Shizhong pointed out that today there are 9 new cases of foreign immigration, respectively from the Philippines (6 cases), the United States, South Africa and Indonesia. Case 2610 for this nationality 50-year-old male, holding a negative test report within 3 days before taking the plane, 9 days from the United States entry, 15 days in quarantine during the symptoms, 17 days to take the test, confirmed today.
According to the command center statistics, up to now Taiwan accumulated 2825 cases of confirmed diagnosis, respectively, 1103 cases of foreign immigration, 1669 cases of local cases, 36 cases of Dunmu fleet, 2 cases of aircraft infection, 1 case unknown and 14 cases under investigation; the other 8 cases (case 530, case 1589, 1676, 1591, 1886, 2067, 2068, 2528) removed for the empty number. Among the confirmed cases, 15 cases died.
According to the report, Chen Shizhong called on the public to implement personal protective measures such as hand hygiene, cough etiquette and wearing masks, reduce unnecessary movement, activities or gatherings, avoid crowded places or high risk of infection transmission, and actively cooperate with all epidemic prevention measures, together with the community to guard the line of defense.
