Chinese dissident Liang Haibin, who fled to Australia on a seaman’s passport to seek asylum, was threatened by the Communist Party’s state security for giving a media interview about his awakening. Fujian officials also threatened him with repercussions for his children if he made “anti-Party” statements.
Liang Haibin, from Fujian, told reporters that he had learned from his family that since early April this year, state guards had been harassing him in his hometown of Huian County, Quanzhou City, Fujian, demanding his phone number and threatening to silence him abroad.
Liang Binhai, a seafarer from Quanzhou, Fujian province, who has run ships to 30 or 40 countries in recent years, yearns for the same path to freedom and democracy in China. He has publicly published articles on the Internet to protest the oppression of seafarers in China, as well as to criticize the inaction of the Chinese (Communist) government, its disregard for human rights and the massacre of its people, and its use of cruel methods to harvest the organs of Falun Gong practitioners, resulting in their deaths ……
On the mainland, people who are convicted for their words abound. He fled China last July to avoid persecution by the Chinese Communist government.
“They threatened me not to (I) talk about the crimes of the Communist Party, or else I wouldn’t be able to go back to my country when the time came, and it would have an impact on my two children.” Liang Haibin said his ex-wife did not understand him as a result and called him a traitor, which caused him great pain. Liang Haibin simply made his phone number public on WeChat and took the initiative to call the local government in Huian, Quanzhou.
He shouted over the phone: Down with the Communists!
Recently, Liang Haibin provided a recording of a conversation with the chief of Huian County’s Chongwu Police Station. In the recording, the chief confirmed Liang Haibin’s identity and said he did not use the regular channels to go to Australia and made some inappropriate comments on the Internet.
In the recording, Liang said he had left the country through regular channels and asked the other party to explain what he meant by “inappropriate comments”. The director said, “You know very well, no need to explain, don’t say those anti-China remarks.” Liang said, “I just gave an interview to the media because the Constitution gives people the right to freedom of speech.”
The director said, “There are limits to freedom of speech, after all, you are still a Chinese.” He also warned him not to make “anti-communist and anti-socialist” statements, which are not allowed by law.
Liang asked him in return, “Do you have to support the Communist Party as a Chinese? If the Communist Party does not serve the people, why should we support it?” The director questioned him when he would return, and Liang said, “How can I go back if you want to arrest me? You are going to persecute me if I go back.” The other party did not say anything.
The director finally mentioned Liang’s children, saying that Liang’s involvement in crime would have an impact on the children’s future employment and that it was a policy issue.
Liang said, “Why should I be linked to nine clans if I have problems? So the worst and most evil thing in this world is the Communist Party, which is really the biggest triad in the world.”
He concluded, “I have not broken the law or committed any crime, speech is normal and is a constitutional right of citizens, and if there is no freedom of speech what human rights are there to talk about? If the Communist Party cannot face up to its own problems and still suppress human rights and freedom of expression, I will still speak out overseas and defeat the Communist Party!”
Speaking out through the media: I won’t eat your words
In February, Liang Haibin said he began speaking out publicly against the Communist Party after the outbreak of pneumonia (a Chinese Communist virus) in Wuhan. He was outraged by the CCP government’s closure of cities and households, its disregard for life, and its trampling of human rights. He and fellow seafarers had also been trapped on ships and prevented from returning home.
He stated that he had been deceived by the CCP for 30 years. Both at home and abroad, the groups opposing the evil Communist Party are in fact truly defending the Constitution.
He also exposed that the shipowner squeezed the crew to make shady contracts, for example, the internship salary was actually only 500 US dollars, and the 1200-odd salary was to cope with the ITF (International transport workers federation) inspection.
In July last year, Liang Haibin came to Australia with the ship to load cargo and took the initiative to contact the Australian Border Protection Agency to seek asylum, as Australia has joined the UN Refugee Convention.
He is currently being held in an Australian immigration detention center and fears he will be forcibly removed. He is unwilling to return to China to be tortured and tormented, saying he will fight to the death and even once felt desperate to leave a suicide note.
In April, he was interviewed in a video by YouTuber Bajong on “Fun TV”, which received 210,000 views and 2,787 comments.
In the interview, he said that some government agencies of the Communist Party always gave him violent and shameless images, and that monitoring the government became a crime of inciting subversion of state power, or even splitting state power. He once again spoke up for the seafarers who are exploited because of the lack of unions and protested loudly against the CCP: “The Chinese people don’t eat your shit anymore!”
In response, netizens said, “[He] speaks the mind of all those who are persecuted by the Chinese Communist system.” “Do you hear how he’s treasonous? I don’t hear it, it seems to be just an ordinary immigrant who is not satisfied with his salary.” “From then on boat running became a profession that needs to be closely investigated.” “Good thing he’s not inside the wall or we’d only miss him ……”
