In the morning of the 19th, the authorities still closed the building, until noon, the lower floor stores were unsealed, stores resumed business one after another, as for the high-rise office building, the authorities only allowed merchants to enter in the name of “picking up goods”.

Sage Tower shaking building caused panic

The day before, at about 1:00 p.m. on the 18th, the Sage Tower building suddenly began to shake, and people inside the building fled for their lives in fear of the building collapsing. Video shows that a large number of people running towards the building outside, and the building rooftop of the two lightning rods also shake violently.

Some netizens said, running too fast shoes are falling off; others said, a breath from the 50th floor to the first floor with 16 minutes.

From the building evacuation of Ms. Xu said she worked on the 51st floor of the Sage Building, a colleague at about 12:15 noon felt a slight shaking of the building, other colleagues said it was not obvious. By 1:05, “chair shaking is more obvious, we all feel it”, so she and her colleagues rushed out to evacuate, and found that many people outside the evacuation.

Sage Building Management Office said around 2 p.m., the building has been evacuated.

Officials claim that the building shaking is the weather

Shenzhen Emergency Management Bureau official then informed, after viewing and analyzing the city’s seismic monitoring station data, the 18th Shenzhen earthquake did not occur. The reason for the shaking of the Sage building is being verified by the relevant departments.

Due to the recent extreme weather in several provinces and cities, some netizens speculated that the shaking was caused by high winds. Shenzhen Meteorological Bureau responded that at the time of the incident, the maximum instantaneous wind measured at the Sage Plaza station was 5, “not called a gale”.

The land media reported that officials initially determined that the building was trembling up and down, and the cause was mainly wind and temperature.

May 19, Shenzhen Futian District Government official microblogging news, commissioned by the Shenzhen Municipal Housing and Construction Department, from 9:00 pm on the 18th to 3:00 pm on the 19th, a number of professional institutions on the vibration, tilt, settlement and other conditions of the Sage Building real-time monitoring. Monitoring data does not show abnormalities, the main structure of the building is safe.

The preliminary report of the Sage Building was deleted again

The land media “First Financial” reported that a report released by the Guangdong Provincial Emergency Department said that experts initially believe that the cause of the strange shaking of the Sage Plaza building is mainly the wind in the sky, the underground subway, and temperature differences.

The report shows that, as measured by experts, the tilt rate of the Saige Building is currently located between 0.01 and 0.02%, which is less than the allowable tilt of 0.2%, far less than the specification requirements, so experts unanimously believe that the Saige Building is not tilted.

The first financial reporter called the Guangdong Provincial Emergency Management Department, the staff confirmed that the document does exist, but also said that this is a preliminary investigation, the specific reasons are pending further investigation by the expert group.

However, after the report was obtained and reported by China Business News, the article was then deleted.

20-year-old paper reveals many problems with Sage Tower

At the same time, a 20-year-old master’s thesis from Huazhong University of Science and Technology, “Analysis of Shenzhen Saige Plaza Construction Project”, has been circulating on the Internet. The thesis revealed that there were indeed many construction problems in the construction of the Saige Building.

The thesis pointed out that the construction of the Saige Building took one year to build the foundation, digging holes and other procedures, and many times in the middle of the “technical design adjustments”, and failed to provide a complete construction plan in time.

Among them, the most serious problem of the Sage Building is the roof antenna vibration. On April 8, 1999, after the steel structure was topped out, the construction of the antenna part was not completed until September 30 of the same year. Pedestrians on the ground found the antenna was swaying violently. It was windy and sunny in Shenzhen at that time, and it turned out that the design of the antenna was miscalculated causing resonance.

The paper stated, “Fortunately, it was on a breezy day, if a strong typhoon had hit, the consequences would have been unthinkable.” The paper also mentioned that, in order to solve the problem, the antenna was sawed off and replaced by a cut.

Public information shows that the Sage Building is located in Huaqiang North, Futian District, Shenzhen, invested and built by Shenzhen Sage Group. It is the landmark building of Shenzhen in the cross-century. With a total height of 355.8 meters, 79 floors, 75 floors above ground and 4 floors underground, and a total construction area of 170,000 square meters, it is the landmark building of Huaqiang North pedestrian street and the tallest steel pipe and concrete structure building in the world at present.

Shenzhen Saige Group is a limited liability company funded by four shareholders, including Shenzhen State-owned Assets Supervision and Administration Commission, China Huarong Asset Management Company, China Oriental Asset Management Company and China Great Wall Asset Management Company. The Group has been awarded the title of National Top 100 Electronic Enterprises and Guangdong Top 100 Enterprises for 10 consecutive years.
