On May 17 at 14:20, Lu Moutian (male, 57), director of the otolaryngology department of Shenzhen Second People’s Hospital, was seeing a patient when a man suddenly drew a knife and slashed him without warning, causing serious damage to his liver and other body organs and leaving him in a critical condition. After resuscitation, he was removed from life-threatening condition.
After the incident, the suspect Liu (male, 32 years old) was placed in criminal detention. After preliminary investigation, Liu had been hospitalized in the ENT department of the hospital for “rhinitis and deviated septum” from December 15 to 27, 2010, and did not return to the hospital for follow-up after being discharged. The case may be Liu’s dissatisfaction with the medical effect and deliberate retaliation. The details of the case are under further investigation.

The screenshots show that the injured doctor is Lu Moutian, director of the Department of Otorhinolaryngology at Shenzhen Second People’s Hospital, who was hacked in the hospital’s 5th floor special clinic and later sent to the operating room for resuscitation. According to staff, the injured Dr. Lu, “was stabbed unlike anything else!”
