The Indian Navy said it would send out reconnaissance aircraft and helicopters to search the waters in “very challenging sea conditions” after only 146 people were rescued from two boats off the coast of Mumbai, with another 127 known to be missing.

The storm has also disrupted the progress of vaccination for the outbreak of the Chinese Communist virus in India. The total number of confirmed cases in India surpassed the 25 million mark on the 18th; 263,533 new cases were confirmed and 4,329 deaths were reported in the past 24 hours.
