The remaining nine defendants are Chan Ho-hwan, convenor of the Civil Human Rights Front; Lee Cheuk-yan, chairman and secretary of the Hong Kong Alliance for Patriotic Democratic Movements of China; Ng Man-yuen, secretary-general of the Social Democratic Alliance; and former legislators Leung Kwok-hung, Albert Ho, Yeung Sum, Ho Sau-lan and Sin Chung-kai. 10 people were also charged with knowingly participating in the unauthorized assembly, but only Ng Man-yuen and Choi Yiu-cheong pleaded guilty. In addition, Chan Ho-hwan, Lee Cheuk-yan, Leung Kwok-hung and Ho Chun-yan were simultaneously charged with inciting others to participate in an unauthorized assembly outside the Central Court of Final Appeal on September 30, 2019, and all four pleaded guilty.
The Central News Agency said that Lai Chi-ying, Lee Cheuk-yan, Leung Kwok-hung and Ho Sau-lan had earlier been sentenced to prison terms ranging from eight to 18 months each for other illegal assembly charges, while Albert Ho and Yeung Sum were given suspended sentences.
According to sources, the court will be sentenced on the 28th of this month.
