France Arrests Third Person After Murderer Slashes Man in Nice

French police arrested a third suspect Friday following the tragic killing of three people in Nice on Thursday, police sources said Saturday.

On Thursday, an assailant beheaded a woman and hacked to death two others at a church in the city of Nice. It was the second fatal slaying in France in two weeks.

A man was shot by police and is in serious condition.

France’s chief anti-terrorism prosecutor said the male suspect in the Nice attack was a Tunisian born in 1999. He entered Europe on Sept. 20 from the Italian island of Lampedusa, near Tunisia.

At the time, judicial sources said a 47-year-old man was arrested Thursday night on suspicion of contact with the attackers; judicial authorities also confirmed that a 35-year-old man, also a resident of Tunisia, was arrested Friday on suspicion of meeting with the killers the day before the attack.
