Mars photos show new species Evidence of life is real?

White spheres photographed on the surface of Mars resemble mushrooms.

The U.S. space agency NASA is committed to the exploration of Mars, including the study of the existence of life on Mars is one of the important topics. A multinational research team recently published a report that they compared NASA’s Mars rover and space telescope photos of Mars, found that there are some objects shaped like “mushrooms”, may be fungus, the results of the study, if true, reflect the existence of Mars may be the conditions for the development of life.

American cosmologist Joseph (Rhawn Gabriel Joseph) and astrophysicist Schild (Rudolph Schild) and Chinese Academy of Sciences microbiologist Wei Xinli, recently published a paper in the international scientific journal “Frontiers in Microbiology” (Advance In Microbiology), said that the Mars rover “Opportunity had photographed some white spherical objects on Mars, which the Opportunity team thought were just hematite.

Joseph and others later found that the mysterious globules in the photos were similar to lichens or mushrooms, and decided to look deeper. They compared photos taken by the Mars rovers Opportunity, Curiosity and HiRISE at the same location and at different times. It was found that the white globules increased from 9 to 12 in just 3 days, and they were not buried by the dust on Mars and did not change in size, reflecting that they were “growing”, regardless of the shape and growth rate are similar to the mushrooms on Earth. Therefore, they believe that the globules are likely to be fungi or something alive.

The team added that what they proposed is only a hypothesis and the paper needs to be verified by a team of other scientists before it can be true. But they pointed out that many fungi on Earth also grow in extreme environments, so it should not be too surprising to find mushrooms on Mars.
