The multinational e-commerce company Amazon recently took down the products of several mainland merchants, which were mainly involved in false reviews, or what is commonly known on the mainland as “credit card fraud”.

According to the mainland Caixin reported on May 10, May 10, Amazon U.S. site several mainland merchants involved in the brand still have some goods not restored to the shelves. Amazon’s product details read, “We don’t know if and when the item will be back in stock.”

Several of the mainland brands involved are Aukey, a brand of Aukey Technology, Tacklife, OUTAD, a brand of Youkai, and some of the goods of TOMTOP, the main brand of Tonto. These brands and goods are 3C electronics and home category.

On May 9, Amazon issued an official response to this round of platform governance: “For violations of mall rules, we will take quick action: such as suspending or revoking selling privileges. Amazon has the responsibility to take such measures and also act rigorously and deliberately to maintain a high-quality business environment.”

The newspaper quoted practitioners’ analysis that Amazon’s governance actions may be related to the May 6 security information website safety detectives website exploded the brush information leakage incident.

safety detective security team on May 6 said in the ElasticSearch database found more than 13 million and Amazon related false reviews. The database exposed a large number of direct communications between Amazon sellers and customers, which showed that some customers wrote fake reviews and five-star reviews for sellers in order to get free products. These involved 200,000 people and 75,000 Amazon buyer accounts. When the buyer completes the review, the seller returns the purchase price via paypal. The information leaked in the database directly exposes the email and contact information of both sides of the transaction.

Mainland sellers usually call such operations “evaluation”, but the essence is similar to the mainland e-commerce common “brush single” and “positive feedback” means.

A large seller not affected in this platform governance, said Amazon has always attached importance to compliance, the tolerance of the brush single extremely low: “the occurrence of such things is not unexpected, permanent shelves or temporary shelves are not yet determined.”

For overseas companies to shelve the behavior of mainland merchants, many mainland netizens stand on the side of Amazon to rebuke mainland merchants.

The netizen “six melamine” said: “The sky has eyes! You can’t be ruled at home, but you won’t be so comfortable abroad! Good to seal!” “Microscope scarf” said: “deserved.” “Mountain flowing water 0218” said: “Support.”

“PUGONYIN_Pro” said: “No wonder Amazon does not do much in China, the original is not to follow the customs of the countryside ‘laugh and not speak’.”

“The bug that moves forward” said, “Everything for the child is purchased from Amazon. I buy a pair of socks on Taobao.”
