May 9 is Mother’s Day, a day to celebrate and thank women for their contributions to raising children. However, even the word “mother” has been the subject of debate in recent days amidst the “politically correct” trend of the left in the United States to promote “gender neutrality. Democratic African-American Congresswoman Cori Bush recently replaced the word “woman” with “birthing people” in a speech to Congress that was criticized by many conservatives. The speech was criticized by many conservatives. Conservatives have asked whether Bush wants to cancel Mother’s Day as well.

In a recent House hearing on the CDC’s racial disparities in mortality rates for women, Busey claimed that she had been ignored by doctors in the past and that her pain had been ignored. She stated, “As a single mother, a nurse, a social activist, a congresswoman, I will do everything I can to protect black mothers, to protect black babies, to protect black birth mothers, and to save lives.”

Bussy also used the term “birthers” again in a Twitter post afterwards.

The incident then became a hot topic, drawing criticism from many conservatives. Rep. Nancy Mace (D-S.C.) responded, “‘Birthing people’ – you mean women or mothers? The left is just outrageous, and they’re taking the only thing that can be done by us women and taking it away from women as well.”

In the far left’s push to eradicate gender concepts, some leftist politicians and organizations have indeed referred to mothers as “birthers” in honor of Mother’s Day.

In response, Fox News anchor Tucker Carlson spoke of Busey’s language as “dehumanizing. Steve Cortes, a former Trump advisor, also questioned whether Mother’s Day should be renamed ‘Mother’s Day, but Fertility Day?

A number of Internet users have expressed their disgust at the wording. One person left a message saying, “Please don’t call me a ‘fertility person’ when I am now pregnant with my first son and I will be addressed as his ‘mother.'”

But the far-left abortion group in the U.S. (NARAL) supported Bussy amidst a firestorm of criticism, arguing that her comments were a quest for gender equality, claiming that they were made because “transgender people can get pregnant.”
