Canada Vancouver International Airport shooting incident! At least 1 dead suspect at large

At least one person is known to have been killed in a shooting at Vancouver International Airport on the afternoon of September 9, and police are currently searching for the suspect.

The Vancouver Sun reported that the shooting broke out at Vancouver International Airport at 3:00 p.m. to 3:25 p.m. local time on the 9th.

The airport officials said on social media sites that the shooting took place outside the main terminal and that RCMP ran across the air bridge to apprehend the suspect, but the killer and his accomplice eventually fled in an eight-passenger car, shooting at police officers who caught up with him as he fled.

The report quoted sources as saying that the deceased was involved in a local gang conflict.

Vancouver International Airport later issued a statement saying the situation was under control and that the airport and its flights were open for normal operations, with flights operating normally, although access was restricted and security was tightened.
