Chinese Communist Party officials announced today that China’s State Council Information Office will hold a press conference at 10 a.m. on the 11th to present the results of the seventh China Census. The release is scheduled to take place about a month later than expected.
The press conference will be attended by Ning Jizhe, deputy head of the Seventh National Census Leading Group of the State Council and director of the National Bureau of Statistics, Li Xiaochao, director of the Seventh National Census Leading Group Office of the State Council and deputy director of the National Bureau of Statistics, Zeng Yuping, deputy director of the Seventh National Census Leading Group Office of the State Council and chief statistician of the National Bureau of Statistics, Zeng Yuping, deputy director of the Seventh National Census Leading Group Office of the State Council and deputy director of the Seventh National Zhang Yi, Deputy Director of the Office of the Leading Group of the Seventh National Census of the State Council and Director of the Department of Population and Employment Statistics of the National Bureau of Statistics.
Communist Party officials were scheduled to announce the results of the 7th National Census in early April. However, it was not until mid-April that Liu Aihua, a spokesman for China’s National Bureau of Statistics, said the census results would strive to be released early.
The Financial Times quoted informed sources as saying in late April that the 7th Chinese census would report a total population of less than 1.4 billion. It shows that China’s population has entered into negative growth.
