The meeting voted to appoint Wang Zhonglin as vice governor and acting governor of Hubei Province.

On May 1, official media reported that Wang Zhonglin, a member of the Standing Committee of the Hubei Provincial Committee and Secretary of the Wuhan Municipal Committee, had taken over as Deputy Secretary of the Hubei Provincial Committee and Secretary of the Party Group of the Provincial Government.
