Recently, a group of Chongqing visitors playing near Tiananmen Square in Beijing were taken into the Tiananmen Public Security Bureau for two consecutive days after their ID cards were checked, and several people are now known to be missing.
On April 30, more than a dozen Chongqing visitors were detained in the Tiananmen Branch Public Security Brigade after their ID cards were checked by Beijing police near the National Grand Theatre in Beijing. On May 1, the group went to Tiananmen Square and was brought into the Tiananmen Branch again.
According to the information provided by the visitors at the scene, on the night of April 30, Li Xuezhi from Chongqing Yubei District was seen coming out of Jiujingzhuang, and at the nearby 485 bus stop, there were about 5 to 6 people, including the chief of Lv of Yubei District Longxing Police Station and Feng Hongxia (phonetic) of the Beijing Office, who intercepted him away again.
At about 8 p.m. on May 1, Li Xuezhi’s sister went to the Longxing police station to ask for someone, and the police station people replied that they were all gone after 5 p.m. that day. Li Xuezhi is currently out of contact.
Wang Zhifen of Chongqing’s Nanan District told the Epoch Times, “On the night of April 30, I couldn’t contact anyone else (the petitioner) after leaving from Jiujingzhuang.”
It is reported that on May 1, Chen Mingyu, Yan Xiangju, He Yan, Tang Yunshu, Hu Guiqin, Zhang Xingfang, Li Zhongxiu and Zhou Yongping, as well as two people from Yuzhong District and one from Fuling District, were again taken to the Tiananmen Branch Office. At 22:10 p.m., they were taken to a bus and sent to Jiujingzhuang. Chen Mingyu has been detained at the Tiananmen Sub-Bureau in an unknown condition.
Wang Zhifen said, “On May 1, Chen Mingyu, Yan Xiangju and He Yan were taken to Tiananmen Square when they went to the Tiananmen Branch. I heard that Chen Mingyu was taken to the Tiananmen Branch and then could not be contacted. The others were taken to places unknown and could not be contacted.”
Zhang Xingfang, who has been repatriated to Chongqing’s Beibei District, said, “After we were taken to the Tiananmen Branch on May 1, our cell phones were taken away, and Chen Mingyu was locked up alone in a room; Yan Xiangju and He Yan were locked up outside the branch, and were brought in with us at 7 p.m. or so.”
She said that at 10 o’clock that night, their group was pulled by Tiananmen police with a bus to the entrance of Jiujingzhuang. Then more than 20 security guards came out from inside Jiujingzhuang, took them to another car and sent them to a bus stop. Because it was very late, the buses were closed, and only that one station was left with the last bus.

5 visitors from Beibei District have been intercepted and returned to Chongqing
On May 2, Zhang Xingfang, Li Zhongxiu and Zhou Yongping from Beibei District were brought back to Chongqing from Tiananmen Branch by Dai Yunsheng from Xiema Street and Officer Ming from Beibei District Branch, and have now returned home.
In addition, Liu Daigang, Liu Dai Lun brothers were repatriated home after being intercepted by two staff members of Xie Ma street from the entrance of Jiu Jing Zhuang in the evening of April 30.
