The Gateway Pundit reported on May 2 that in the past few days, attorneys from The Brennan Center, the “election consultant” for The Protect Democracy Group, have been smuggled into Maricopa County by the Democratic Secretary of State’s office for an audit.
Arizona Republican leader Kelli Ward is sounding the alarm and issuing a “call to action” for Trump supporters to unite and protect the audit from these Democrats. Ward said serious developments have led her to believe that “we are at a tipping point” and that the audit is in jeopardy.
The Gateway Pundit reported on April 27 that far-left Democratic groups are asking the Justice Department to block the Arizona audit. Experts from The Brennan Center and The Protect Democracy Group wrote a letter to the Justice Department asking that federal inspectors be sent to observe the Arizona audit. Ms. Ward described them as “aggressive, dirty behind-the-scenes players” who are working with Black Lives Matter and Marxist groups to undermine America.
Ms. Ward explained that through a court-facilitated agreement between the parties, Arizona Secretary of State (SoS) Democrat Katie Hobbs was given access to the audit floor for three representatives. We now know that at least two of the observers overseeing the audit are not from the Secretary of State’s office; one is an “election consultant” for the group Protect Democracy, and the other is a lawyer for the Brennan Center, both from Washington groups that wrote letters urging the FBI to “monitor” the audit.
Ms. Ward emphasized that this practice undermines Arizona’s sovereign right to oversee and manage its own elections, and that the involvement of federal groups in local election audits sets a dangerous precedent.
At the last hearing, the Court ordered the parties to cooperate in reaching an agreement to provide the Secretary of State with the authority to oversee the audit. It now appears that the Secretary of State has taken advantage of what appears to be a good faith agreement to drop the personnel.
