Chinese woman robbed at gunpoint by three compatriots in her circle of friends

At the beginning of the article, we must emphasize to you: Chinese people must be careful when exchanging foreign currency privately!

Although it is not news that Chinese people exchange money, many people have operated, but nowadays the world is getting worse, remind everyone not to find strangers to exchange money.

At 6:29 p.m. on Monday, April 26, the 109th Precinct in Flushing, a Chinese neighborhood, received a call for help with a vicious armed robbery in a three-story home located on 41-XX Crommelin Street across from Plant Park between University Point and Maine Street.

After a short investigation, the victim revealed that she had an appointment to come to her home to do a dollar-for-dollar exchange.

But what I didn’t expect was that the person who was about was a robber!

It is reported that the victim also asked one of his male friends to wait at home together for safety reasons, who knew that the group of robbers came down to three people.

It is reported that the three people who came are all of Chinese descent.

After entering the door, the three Chinese immediately revealed their original form, they immediately pulled out three pistols pointed to scare the two victims, and ordered the victims to hand over the 120,000 U.S. dollars ready to exchange, because the three robbers have deadly weapons in hand, the victims had no choice but to hand over cash.

The victim’s male friend immediately chased him out the door and found one of the robbers jumping into a parked car at the intersection, so he jumped into the parked car and started to follow the robber, and immediately called 911 for help again.

After a short communication, the friend followed the victim to a home on 41st Avenue and 149th Street in Flushing, where he saw the robber get out of his car and take off his white jacket to wrap the handgun, then immediately notified officers of the robber’s latest location.

The patrol officers rushed to the scene and stopped the robber, and found a black 9mm handgun without waders on him.

The patrol officers immediately informed the officers at the scene of the incident to bring the victim to the second scene at 41st Avenue and 149th Street for identification procedures, and after the victim and the victim’s friends identified the robber as one of the three armed robbers, the officers brought the victim and the robber back to the 109th Precinct for investigation, and the officers recovered the handgun used to commit the crime, in addition to the robber’s possession. A small amount of cash, the victim was robbed of $ 120,000 was not in the robber, but was taken by two other robbers, Queens Robbery Unit immediately involved in the investigation overnight, the police are looking for the remaining two robbers who escaped.

It is reported that the victim and the robbers did not have a previous encounter, but also through friends in the Internet to meet the so-called “exchange” people.

Out of caution, the victim had repeatedly communicated with him by phone, and both sides finally decided to exchange $120,000.

The way chosen is also currently more popular among the Chinese people, in the U.S. side, one party will hand over $120,000 in cash, at the same time, the domestic one will be paid into the designated account, also even if the two sides completed the transaction at the same time.

Since this kind of transaction can be popular in the Chinese circle, it also means that its operation is more recognized by both sides of the exchange, but nowadays, violent crime soars, some unscrupulous people move their brains, they often mingle in the major Chinese WeChat group, sometimes with a small amount of exchange as bait, waiting for “prey” in the group to take the bait.

Once someone contacts them, sometimes they will first exchange a small amount of money to gain trust, and sometimes they will come directly with a gun like today.

According to the 109th Precinct in Flushing, where the case is being handled, at least 10 Chinese people have suffered monetary losses from armed robberies in the area since 2019. These robbers often come with a plan and are hard to catch after one crime and then fade away. Therefore, the police advise those Chinese who have exchanged or intend to exchange money to be extra careful not to fall into the trap set by these robbers and suffer monetary losses or endanger their own safety.
