This generation of young people has become incredibly lonely

The explosion of Station B is essentially a generation of young people who have become incredibly lonely.

In 1971, there were still 2.88 children per urban family, but after family planning was introduced, the number remained steady at around 1.5 from 1976-1990. By 1990, the number had slipped to 0.94, and now there is even less to look at.

Generation Z, the cohort born between 1995-2009, has had no concept of siblings since they could understand, and everyone is an only child. For them, classmates are closer to the image of competitors, because the college entrance examination was expanded in 1999, and this group of Generation Z can already directly start to feel the pressure of competition and the devaluation of education.

Of course, as a result, this cohort is fortunate in that their college enrollment rate (42.67%) is twice that of the previous generation (17.70%), which has led to a steady increase in their post-graduation income at a rate of $200-500 per year.

Their resource endowment and disposable income is growing, but the problem is that it can’t rise above housing prices, and here they are caught in an awkward situation: if it involves buying a house and raising a child, then the income growth is a drop in the bucket; but if it doesn’t involve buying a house and raising a child, their income is plentiful again because the per capita GNI (that is, per capita disposable resources) is steadily rising.

— So once they give up having children, many find themselves ten times richer out of thin air, so there will be an explosion of pets, games, handiwork and blind box consumption, and implicitly behind that is a group of people completely lying down and giving up, which in turn suppresses the number of newborns and leads to the difficult census data to date.

This group of young people, who have no siblings, whose income is less than above and more than below, whose peers are more like a competitive image, have a far greater affinity for the Internet than their parents, which has led to a greater generation gap between the two generations.

They are very, very lonely, and many of them have even lost the ability and willingness to communicate in reality other than socializing. The percentage of people willing to actively socialize with acquaintances after 60 is 42.20%, and the figure is only 33.6% after 00.

But people are essentially creatures who need a sense of identity, so they find solace in consumption. 46% of Gen Z people agree to obtain a sense of identity through consumption, which is 5 percentage points higher than that of the pre-95 generation with higher income. They also identify with pleasing themselves, with spending money for fun and enjoyment.

It is not that they are addicted to the illusion of consumption, but the reality that there is no other solace they can rely on.

This loneliness has given birth to the virtual world on the Internet, and a group of people have turned to the Internet to seek identity, whether it’s chasing stars, corrupting articles, or ACG Ertron. Many people can’t understand why some wife writers and homo sapiens painters put out material output for free. Many people’s original intention is not to be a big V, but they really want others to praise TA and recognize TA, and at the same time let themselves feel that there is a group of people who are as lonely as TA and are loving the same things.

Even on the B site, this group of young people is actually unusually lonely, so they need to seek a sense of identity and community through terriers online. In the non-mainstream culture, many words and expressions have specific meanings, such as “very spiritual”, “GIEGIE”, “GIEGIE”, and “GIEGO”. “GIEGIE”, “philosophy “, but these words have any real connotation or real meaning, in fact, no. But why do you still look happy.

But why do you still look happy, because you find yourself actually not alone, in this world, there are other people and you brush the same stalk, watch the same video, do the same thing, like the same thing.

Generation Z will be moved by something so simple, there is nothing more lonely than this.
