Xi Jinping speaks at the opening ceremony of Boao Forum for Asia on the 20th
As tensions between the United States and China continue to rise, Xi Jinping recently delivered a speech at the opening ceremony of the Boao Forum for Asia, repeatedly criticizing the U.S. side without naming it. Analysts say that Xi made the Boao Forum look like a “criticism conference” to fight the United States, but exposed the three major concerns and seven major hoods and weaknesses of Zhongnanhai’s bad times.
The Boao Forum for Asia 2021 annual meeting opened on April 20 in Hainan, China, Xi Jinping said in his keynote speech at the opening ceremony via video message that the future and destiny of the world should be in the hands of all countries, and that the rules set by one or a few countries should not be imposed on others, nor should individual countries “set the pace” for the whole world.
Xi also called on the world to be fair, not hegemonic. The big countries should have the appearance of big countries, to show more responsibility. To abandon the cold war mentality and zero-sum game, and oppose any form of “new cold war” and ideological confrontation.
In response, the Associated Press believes Xi’s comments reflect the Communist Party’s desire to exert influence on a global scale commensurate with its status as the world’s second-largest economy, as well as the Communist Party’s leaders’ frustration with the United States’ obstruction of its ambitious approach.
Zhou Xiaohui: Xi Jinping’s Three Big Concerns
Xi Jinping’s speech is full of lofty words, but does the exact opposite, which still reveals a lack of self-confidence and deep anxiety, according to an analysis by Epoch Times commentator Zhou Xiaohui. The tone of Xi’s speech is obviously less stern and struggling, which also makes people feel Xi’s deep worries.
The first concern is that the United States and the West are joining forces to deal with the CCP by setting new rules. In his speech, Xi continued to use the same clichés as before, apparently acknowledging that the international system, with the United Nations at its core, and the multilateral trading system are now being challenged, and that the United States is driving the rhythm of the world’s united “anti-communist” efforts.
The second concern is the decoupling of the United States and China. In his speech, Xi said that in the era of economic globalization, artificially “building walls” and “decoupling” are detrimental to others and to oneself.
In fact, after a series of sanctions and restrictions introduced by the Trump administration, exchanges between China and the U.S. in areas such as artificial intelligence, biomedicine and modern energy have almost been interrupted, and the U.S. restrictions on chip exports, sanctions on the Chinese Communist Party’s supercomputer center and the accelerated withdrawal of U.S. companies and funds have hit the Chinese Communist Party quite hard.
Zhou said that while the U.S.-China decoupling will have some impact on the U.S., the CCP has been hit hard. Currently, the U.S. has some big moves yet to make, such as banning Chinese financial institutions from using the U.S. dollar, cutting off China’s root domain servers, fighting a financial exchange rate war, and joining allies in freezing or confiscating the overseas assets of more senior CCP officials and their families …… Once these moves are implemented, the blow to Zhongnanhai and the CCP will be devastating.
Xi’s third concern is more resistance to the Belt and Road Initiative. Since its launch in 2013, the Belt and Road project, which aims to penetrate and expand the influence of the countries in which it operates, has been resisted, with cases of suspension in South Asia, Southeast Asia, Central Asia and even Africa.
On April 21, the Australian government announced outright that it was withdrawing two Belt and Road agreements with the Chinese Communist Party, saying the agreements were against Australia’s national interests.
Zhou said, probably to redeem his negative image, Xi Jinping drew a big pie for the countries concerned in his speech, but can the Communist Party of China, with its own economy in serious decline and shortage of foreign exchange, afford to continue the Belt and Road project? Without money, how long can the Chinese Communist Party maintain its friendship with money?
Tang Hao: Xi Jinping Exposes His 7 Fatal Weaknesses
The Chinese Communist Party’s seven fatal weaknesses have been fully revealed in Xi Jinping’s speech, said Tang Hao, the host of the self-published [Tang Hao Vision] program on the 23rd.
One: the Chinese Communist Party lacks a competitive advantage in the U.S.-China confrontation downwind
Since Trump took office, the U.S. policy line towards China has been completely reversed, and the U.S. and China have been engaged in fierce offensive and defensive battles in all aspects, including trade wars, technology wars, talent wars, economic wars, etc. Even now, the two sides are also engaged in hard military battles in the East and South China Seas.
The Chinese Communist Party thought the wind would change after Biden took office, so it started to stand tall and proud, but it ended up kicking the iron plate, instead prompting the Biden administration to follow the Trump line and continue its hard-line blockade of the Chinese Communist Party.
Therefore, Xi Jinping had to come out and attack the U.S. side at the Boao Forum this time to help the CCP save some face. Behind the scenes, it actually reveals that the Chinese Communist Party is on the back foot under the strong suppression of the U.S. side and is unable to resist, so it has to “pretend to be a victim”, which is actually a confession of the Chinese Communist Party admitting its defeat.
In fact, Chinese Vice Foreign Minister Le Yucheng came out to the media a few days ago and said, “China and the United States should make every effort to avoid confrontation, especially to avoid artificially creating confrontation. We should also expand cooperation as much as possible.”
Please remember, whenever the Chinese Communist Party takes the initiative to ask for cooperation, if they are not defeated by their rivals and may have an existential crisis, then they are short of technology, short of capital, short of talent, and want to take it from others and use it, to suck the blood of others to survive.
Therefore, Xi Jinping’s and Le Yucheng’s statements actually reveal that the Chinese Communist Party is on the back foot in the U.S.-China confrontation and has to come out and play the victim and ask the U.S. side to cooperate.
Second: the lack of technological innovation industry chain, supply chain alarm
Before Trump left office, the U.S. side has been cutting off high-tech technology export channels to the Chinese Communist Party, including semiconductor chips, 5G technology, dual-use technology and so on. The Chinese Communist Party used to rely on theft of technology from the U.S. side, theft of intellectual property rights to develop the technology industry, they also call this “bending the curve to overtake the car”, so in the U.S. side of the comprehensive blockade, the Chinese Communist Party’s industrial chain and supply chain have been moving out, and even “broken chain” dilemma This is why Xi Jinping said this time that “the Chinese Communist Party’s industrial chain and supply chain have been shifted outward and even “broken”.
Therefore, Xi Jinping said this time, “opening up and integrating is an unstoppable historical trend”, and if we go against this trend, we will “harm others and harm ourselves”. In fact, it reveals the crisis and dilemma of the Chinese Communist Party, which is cut off from all sources of technology by the U.S. side and no longer dares to mention the so-called “Made in China 2025”.
Now even the Chinese Communist Party itself wants to spend money to make chips, to rework, to engage in research and development, I am afraid it may not be in time to save the current transformation of the Chinese economy.
3: The Chinese Communist Party is worried about the epidemic and is trying to shift the focus
A team of experts from the World Health Organization (WHO) went to Wuhan, China, in February to investigate the origin of the virus, and although the official report tried to clear the connection between the new coronavirus (CCP virus) and CCP laboratories, WHO General Secretary, no, WHO Director-General Tan Desai, made a rare jump to say that “all hypotheses need further study.
A little later, a WHO consultant also came out to the media and publicly disclosed that there was overwhelming evidence that the virus should have come from a CCP lab. All of these statements have made the CCP quite nervous that countries might again hold the CCP responsible for the outbreak.
Therefore, Xi Jinping, in this appearance, also placed special emphasis on the development and distribution of vaccines “so that people in all countries can really use and afford them. On the surface, Xi seems to be speaking for vulnerable countries and asking developed countries to provide vaccines to developing countries, but in reality, the CCP is secretly shifting the focus of the epidemic away from the source of the virus and the CCP’s cover-up of the epidemic, which is a very skillful way to divert attention and evade responsibility.
4: Taiwan escalated into an international issue that the CCP can hardly annex
In his speech, Xi Jinping said, “It is unpopular to dictate to other countries and interfere in their internal affairs at every turn. Everyone could hear that he was criticizing the United States.
In particular, the United States and Japan just issued a joint statement last week in which they not only expressed concern about human rights issues in Hong Kong and Xinjiang, but both sides also emphasized the importance they attach to stability in the Taiwan Strait. The U.S. and Japanese statements on the Taiwan Strait issue made the Chinese Communist Party very angry, which is why they came out to criticize the U.S. for “dictating”.
More importantly, after the U.S. and Japan’s statements, Australia has also indicated recently that they are already preparing for a conflict in the Taiwan Strait and that the Australian military will be deployed to assist the U.S. military in the event of a real military conflict in the Taiwan Strait.
In other words, Taiwan has been upgraded from a “cross-strait issue” to an “international issue”, and is a security and stability issue for the entire Indo-Pacific region, which will make it increasingly difficult for the Chinese Communist Party to annex Taiwan.
Five: countries to prevent the invasion of the Chinese Communist Party “one belt and one road” is urgent
At the forum, Xi Jinping spent a lot of time selling the Belt and Road, saying, for example, that “the Belt and Road is expected to help lift 7.6 million people out of extreme poverty and 32 million out of moderate poverty worldwide,” and that they want to make the Belt and Road a “poverty reduction” project. They want to make the Belt and Road “a ‘road to poverty reduction’ and a ‘road to growth'”.
While this may sound inspirational, this propaganda approach has exposed that the Belt and Road project is in trouble and more and more countries are refusing to join it, which is why the Chinese Communist Party is packaging it in this way.
As we mentioned earlier, Australia announced the cancellation of the “Belt and Road” agreement between Victoria and the Chinese Communist Party because it is not in line with their foreign policy and is detrimental to Australia’s diplomatic development.
The Republic of Montenegro in Europe and Sri Lanka in Asia have recently been revealed to be tied up in the Belt and Road “debt trap”. The “Belt and Road” is a serious debt trap. Therefore, the Belt and Road is also increasingly lack of interest.
Six: War Wolf angers the international community and the CCP is embarrassed to cool down
On March 18, the Chinese Communist Party’s top diplomat, Yang Jiechi, cursed at the U.S. side for 16 minutes at the U.S.-China talks, declaring that “the Chinese don’t eat this” and that the fierce war wolf look is still fresh in everyone’s mind. A month later, Xi Jinping at the Boao Forum, but the tone of 180 degrees of change.
The top management of the Communist Party of China (CPC) first released the war wolf, and then said that they “will never claim hegemony and will not expand” and will be peace builders. “This change of attitude actually means that the CCP finds that the seeds are not right and wants to cool down in a hurry.
This is because the criticism of the “War Wolf” has already made countries around the world resentful and raise their guard and resistance against the CCP, which will be detrimental to the CCP’s next confrontation with the U.S. and its foreign expansion, so Xi Jinping wants to cool it down quickly by bringing up Deng Xiaoping’s “Towers of Light and Obscurity” and claiming to rise peacefully and never claim hegemony.
However, this approach is close to “schizophrenic”, but it shows the embarrassment and dilemma of the CCP.
Seven: How many people still believe the CCP’s lies?
In fact, I believe that the CCP’s statements here also make you laugh and cry, because they always talk in a grand and eloquent manner, using the mainstream terms of the international community, but what they actually do is the opposite, saying one thing and doing another. Isn’t that right?
For example, Xi Jinping told the United States to “not be domineering” and “behave like a big country”, but look at the Chinese Communist Party’s civil and military attacks and harassment of Taiwan, is this not domineering? And look at the Chinese Communist Party officials’ insults of the Canadian Prime Minister as a “lapdog” and the French scholar as a “rogue”, are these not all manifestations of the Chinese Communist Party’s “hegemony”?
Xi Jinping declared that he would never call himself a hegemon and he loves peace, but right after the U.S. and Japan issued a joint statement, Chinese military planes carried out aerial bombing drills.
This is why one of the biggest weaknesses of the Chinese Communist Party is that it lies until almost no one believes it anymore.
Therefore, even if Xi Jinping comes out and makes these grand statements, I am afraid that it will still not change the wariness of countries towards the CCP and the encirclement strategy of the United States to surround the CCP with other countries.
