Ohio’s Republican state representative has proposed changing the name of an Ohio state park in tribute to former President Trump.

The bill is a tribute to Trump, the 45th president of the United States, and honors the commitment and dedication he gave to the people of the park; Trump received significantly more votes than Biden in Ohio in the 2020 presidential election, Loychik said.

The park renaming proposal is the latest sign of Trump’s influence on Republican politics in Ohio; Trump’s influence has been seen in the cautious attitude of Republicans such as Governor Mike DeWine and many right-wing candidates vying for the nomination for Senator Rob Portman’s seat.

Ohio needs $300,000 to replace park signs, and Loichick seeks public comment on the 20th.
