India’s new crown cases exceed 260,000 new cases in a single day

Authorities in India’s capital, New Delhi, said Sunday (April 18, 2021) that one in three people tested for the new coronavirus in the city recently showed a positive reaction.

Residents in the capital took to social media to complain about the lack of oxygen supplies, beds and medicines in hospitals.

India’s national record of 261,394 new cases of neo-coronavirus was set Saturday, with a cumulative 14.8 million people infected with neo-coronavirus, second only to the 31.6 million in the United States.

A Johns Hopkins University data shows that only slightly more than 1 percent of Indians have been vaccinated against New Crown.

On Sunday, Iran reported the highest daily death toll from the new coronavirus in months, and hospitals in the capital and other areas were overcrowded with patients.

Meanwhile, Israel revoked the requirement for people to wear masks outdoors. About 56% of Israelis have been fully vaccinated against the new coronavirus.

On the same day, the United States announced that slightly more than half of adults had received at least one dose of the New Crown vaccine.

France announced Saturday that all travelers from Brazil, Argentina, Chile and South Africa must be quarantined for 10 days starting April 24. The government is concerned about the mutated New Coronavirus in those countries.

As of Sunday night, 13.9 million people in Brazil had been infected with the new coronavirus and 371,000 people had died from the new coronavirus. The U.S. has the highest cumulative number of NCC deaths in the world at more than 567,000.
