A train derailment in Egypt’s Qalyubia province, north of the capital Cairo, killed 11 people and injured 98 others on April 18. The authorities sent more than 50 ambulances for emergency rescue.
The incident occurred about 40 kilometers north of Cairo (Cairo). Egypt National Railways (Egyptian National Railways) said in a brief statement that the train in question had departed from Cairo and was expected to go to the city of Mansoura, but four cars derailed at 1:54 p.m. local time.
At least 11 people have been reported dead and 98 injured, with ambulances taking the injured to three hospitals in the province of Gallubiyou.
From social media photos issued can be seen, the overturned train cars lying on the tracks, the side of the car became the roof, the top full of people standing, the scene is crowded with unknown passengers and onlookers, there are cranes to assist in disaster relief.
Authorities have launched an investigation into the train driver, driver’s assistant and eight officials, and all trains on the line were suspended.
