The Chinese Communist Party’s education department has issued a ban to prevent “problematic reading materials” from entering schools and to strengthen the censorship of extracurricular materials. All Western books are restricted. In response, some scholars criticized the CCP’s approach as stupid and foolish, and questioned why Xi Jinping sent his daughter to study abroad.
In early April, the Chinese Communist Party authorities issued the “Measures for the Management of Extracurricular Books for Primary and Secondary School Students on Campus,” which is divided into 12 articles, officially known as the “12 Negative List,” the political term for which is “cleaning up the poison on campus,” that is, censoring and further restricting extracurricular books on campus. This means censoring and further restricting extracurricular reading materials on campus.
At the same time, the Ministry of Education of the Communist Party of China has issued an executive order requiring strict implementation in the country’s primary, secondary, and university schools, and implementing a system of accountability, meaning that the principal of the school in question must take full responsibility for any problems found after the executive order is implemented, regardless of their size.
It is worth noting that, unlike previous administrative orders from the Ministry of Education, the “12 negative list”, allegedly from the top, and has been approved by Xi Jinping, requiring schools to strictly enforce.
The 12 negative lists include all those that are inconsistent with the CCP’s policies, slanderous or negative words about the CCP and state leaders, smear, scandalize or denigrate the CCP’s party and military history, or Western reading materials.

In response, Li Yuanhua, formerly an associate professor at the School of Education Science of Capital Normal University, said in an interview with Voice of Hope that the CCP has been introducing similar policies in recent years. The early ones were to eliminate knowledge of Western religions from primary and secondary school textbooks, something so ridiculous it has been doing.
Li Yuanhua said that the main reason is that the CCP has to clean up these books that do not conform to the CCP’s sense of tyranny, or as long as they allow Chinese people to understand the truth about history and the real world. Not to mention the books on universal values that contradict the CCP’s ideology, which are considered by the CCP as a toxin in its eyes and must be removed.
Li Yuanhua said that the CCP is now at the end of its rope, and it has no more ways to maintain its regime. It is afraid of the free world or free thought. Then it wants to maintain its regime in this way.
Li Yuanhua also said that this is the information age, and China has a large number of overseas students and overseas exchanges, and it is no longer the “Cultural Revolution” period with closed doors. It is absolutely impossible for the CCP to achieve its goals in the same way as it did during the Cultural Revolution. However, the CCP may also be trying to make people show their allegiance through such a stupid and foolish approach.
The West is a relatively open, free and democratic world, or one that follows universal values. The CCP is afraid that the Chinese people will learn the truth and make comparisons, thus exposing its brainwashing lies. Li Yuanhua criticized that such brainwashing measures of the CCP cannot be moved to the stage, and the CCP system cannot produce a real talent.
Li Yuanhua said, so Chinese Communist Party officials have sent their children abroad, and Xi Jinping has also sent his daughter to study foreign languages and Harvard University in the United States, which is actually the opposite of his own orders. This comparison shows their hypocrisy even more.
