Experts: Liaoning drill ends haphazardly, forced to flee north by U.S. ship

Recently, the Liaoning aircraft carrier formation, which passed through the waters of Okinawa and Miyako Island, went south to the western Pacific Ocean for exercises, but a big scandal broke out. It was not only monitored by the U.S. military, but also photographed in high definition for global display. According to military experts, the Liaoning was also attacked by U.S. destroyers and carrier strike groups and fled to the north, so the exercise is expected to have ended hastily and returned.

On April 12, China sent 25 military aircraft, including 18 fighters and 4 bombers, into Taiwan’s southwest air defense identification zone to harass Taiwan. This is the largest scale since the Ministry of National Defense began announcing developments of communist aircraft.

Epoch Times columnist Shen Zhou analyzed that the Chinese Communist Party’s move should be directed at the U.S. aircraft carrier. According to the U.S. military website USNI News, the U.S. aircraft carrier USS Roosevelt approached the Taiwan Strait on April 12, roughly near Dongsha Island.

According to the “South China Sea Strategic Situational Awareness” platform, the USS Roosevelt carrier’s C-2A Greyhound transport aircraft appeared in the waters near the Bus Strait on April 12. Taiwan’s Ministry of National Defense announced that the flight paths of Chinese military aircraft were also close to the side of Dongsha Island, which should again simulate an air attack on the Roosevelt aircraft carrier.

The platform also revealed that on April 3, the Liaoning carrier formation appeared in the waters near the mouth of the Yangtze River, and on the 4th passed through the waters of Okinawa and Miyako Island, sailing south into the western Pacific; the Roosevelt carrier strike group entered the South China Sea via the Straits of Malacca on the 4th.

The destroyer USS Mastin appeared in the waters near the mouth of the Yangtze River on the 3rd, and sailed all the way to monitor the Liaoning’s southward voyage into the western Pacific.

A high-resolution photo released on the U.S. Navy’s official website shows the USS Muscatine’s captain and sub-captain in the navigation room on the 4th, calmly crossing their feet and monitoring the situation in the Philippine sea, with the Liaoning parked on the deck between them. At least four J-15s are on the deck of the Liaoning. The number “16” is clearly visible.

Shen Zhou said the U.S. military’s clear observation at such close range makes one wonder where the Chinese Communist Party’s 055 and 052D destroyers have gone. “The Liaoning carrier fleet should also be escorted by underwater submarines, so is the U.S. destroyer USS Muscatine also knows all about it and that’s why it’s so relaxed?

He said that on April 7, the destroyer USS McCain (DDG56) crossed the Taiwan Strait, and the two destroyers were in Taiwan waters, one east and one west, in response to the rising situation in the Taiwan Strait, and there should be a U.S. submarine underwater.

On the same day, the Chinese Communist Party sent 15 military sorties, including 12 fighter jets, in the Taiwan Strait; on April 9, the Chinese Communist Party sent 11 more military sorties, including 8 fighter jets.

On April 10 and 11, the Communist Party did not deploy military aircraft on a large scale, so it is expected that the Liaoning has started to return to Taiwan.

“The Liaoning crossed the Miyako Strait on the 4th and probably returned on the 10th. Shen Zhou said that apparently the so-called long-range training ended haphazardly, not because of fuel problems, but because it was monitored by the U.S. military throughout. The Chinese carrier fleet may have only seen the U.S. destroyers, but I’m afraid it failed to detect the submerged U.S. submarines, so how could it not be fainthearted?

Meanwhile, the USS Roosevelt and the amphibious assault ship USS Maxine Island (LHD 80) are heading to the Taiwan Strait after rehearsing in the South China Sea on April 9, and the Chinese Communist Party should have gotten the information, so the Liaoning has to flee northward.

Shen Zhou analyzed that it is unlikely that the Liaoning will enter the South China Sea, otherwise it will meet with the Roosevelt aircraft carrier.

The U.S. military did not disclose the location of the Roosevelt’s aircraft carrier in time, but civilian military websites have been tracking it. 25 Chinese military planes were deployed on April 12, which almost confirmed the arrival of the U.S. aircraft carrier in the Taiwan Strait, but the Chinese carrier was missing.

Shen Zhou said, the U.S. military has been training in the South China Sea and is rapidly approaching the Taiwan Strait. “If the aircraft carrier Roosevelt has taken the back way, it will be even more hilarious.

A carrier standoff seems to have failed to take place. The Chinese communist aircraft carrier made a high-profile trip to sea, first claiming distant training, then quickly changing its name to Taiwan Sea training. The Liaoning carrier did not carry an AWACS aircraft, but still needed the support of land-taken off AWACS and ASW aircraft, and was again approached by a U.S. destroyer.

Shen Zhou said the Chinese Communist military is even more disorganized under the U.S. military’s multiple checks. This round of military wrestling provoked by the Chinese Communist Party, the winner is already visible.
