Three people were sentenced to death for immediate execution
The Wa State Judicial Commission Court Division announced that the Wa State Judicial Commission Prosecutor’s Office filed a public prosecution on November 25, 2020, and the court opened a case for examination on December 1 of the same year.
The criminal panel of the Judicial Commission Court found that the criminal activities of kidnapping, robbery and theft committed by the defendants Liu Senxiang, Zhou Xuan, Zhang Jianbo, Liu Xiang, Wang Long, Wang Yong and Huang Jie were “badly behaved, audacious, lawless and in defiance of the law, causing a huge negative social impact on the Wa State”.
On the morning of April 8, 2021, the court of the Wa State Judicial Commission of Myanmar held a public judgment meeting at the airport to conduct a public trial against Liu Senxiang’s group in accordance with the law. The court announced that the defendant Liu Senxiang was found guilty of robbery, kidnapping and theft, and the defendants Zhang Jianbo and Zhou Xuan were found guilty of kidnapping and theft, and decided to execute the three of them “with immediate effect”.
