Chinese fishing boats moored at a port in Xiamen, Fujian province, southeastern China.
Philippine officials recently announced more than 200 Chinese fishing boats moored in the South China Sea reefs. These fishing boats are regarded as alternative pirate ships. Recently, the U.S. media, some experts said that these fishing boats are actually the Chinese Communist Party’s covert maritime militia “little blue man” unit. The U.S. military has said that this force is in a gray area and is used by the Chinese Communist Party to subvert the sovereignty of other countries and to achieve the purpose of expansion in the South China Sea.
China has been making a lot of moves in the South China Sea recently, trying to expand its sovereignty by deploying a large number of ships in the disputed waters and building artificial islands. Since March 7, more than 220 Chinese vessels have been moored off Whitsun Reef, prompting the Philippines to seriously protest. Whitsun Reef is located within the Philippines’ exclusive economic zone.
In response, not only did the international community protest with joint military exercises, but the U.S. Coast Guard and Marine Corps also joined forces with the invaded country to respond to the Chinese provocation.
The USS Roosevelt Carrier Battle Group (TRCSG) recently entered the South China Sea for the third time to conduct routine operations. The Liaoning carrier group of the Chinese Communist Navy is also training in these waters. Warships from both countries gather in the South China Sea and conduct frequent operations.
On April 12, the U.S. and the Philippines launched the two-week Balikatan Drills 2021 joint military exercise to deter the Chinese Communist Party.
U.S. media CNN reported that 220 heavy fishing boats from the Chinese Communist Party have invaded Ngau Yoke Reef in the South China Sea, leading to severe protests from the Philippines and allegations that the people on board are Chinese maritime militia.
The report said that some experts called the militia force “Little Blue Men” based on the color of the vessels’ appearance.
Carl Schuster, former director of operations for the U.S. Pacific Command’s Joint Intelligence Center, revealed in an interview that the militia force does not go fishing, their “fishing boats” have automated weapons and sturdy hulls, and their top speed is 18 to 22 knots, more than 90 percent of the world’s fishing boats. .
The U.S. military said last December that the Communist government was using the force to subvert the sovereignty of other countries, and that they were navigating a gray area that allowed China to expand its power and illegal claims in the South China Sea.
Thousands of Vietnamese fishermen say their boats have been sunk by Chinese fishing boats.
Alternative Pirates: Communist China’s “Little Blue Men” Force
Andrew Erickson, a professor at the U.S. Naval War College, told CNN that the force is organized, developed and controlled by the Chinese Communist Party, and that they operate under a direct military chain of command to carry out activities funded by the Chinese government.
Erickson revealed that these militias are integrated with the Chinese fishing fleet, and the militias can lead a large number of fishing boats on missions.
The newspaper also quoted several experts’ analysis that strategically speaking, the maritime militia is highly mobile and much less costly than warships, which is quite difficult for the enemy to deal with, and once a conflict occurs at sea, it is enough to interfere with the enemy’s execution of anti-submarine warfare or to send out executive helicopters, which can successfully stall the other side’s actions, and if the U.S. military wants to sweep, it may have to send out destroyers.
They also said that to suppress these Chinese communist militia ships also has risks, the South China Sea countries with weaker power may be deterred by the Chinese Communist Party from driving away these ships, because once they make a move, the Chinese Communist Party will claim that these ships are not warships, and foreign countries to make actions can be called by them as an attack on Chinese civilians.
Experts warn that the Chinese Communist Party may deploy these “little blue men”, a maritime militia, to various seas, which would greatly increase the possibility of a gunfight.
Exposing the Chinese Communist Party’s ship and sea tactics
Mainland writer Zhang Lin published an article in September last year to expose the Chinese Communist Party’s boat and sea tactics. He said that for years, the Chinese Communist Party has forced Chinese fishermen to hold large fishing boats, usually worth millions of dollars new, with a dozen fishermen on board. And it was mandated that on each boat, there had to be a party branch, or at least a party militia member, so that the fishing boats could be firmly controlled.
Zhang Lin said he thought at the time that these measures by the Chinese Communist Party were mainly aimed at eliminating smuggling and smuggling. But the experiences provided by Taiwanese netizens suggest that the CCP does this more for military purposes. Once in a state of war, the Communist army would be able to ride around Taiwan in hundreds of thousands of fishing boats, looking for openings to land and fight.
According to the article, although the Chinese Communist Party’s military now has just over 3 million plus the armed police and special forces. But due to the monstrous development of Chinese Communist Party industry over the years, the ability to manufacture arms, ships and vehicles has increased unprecedentedly, and an army of tens of millions of people can be built at any time.
Zhang Lin said that the fishing boats deployed by the CCP along the coast have participated in military exercises and possess the necessary combat awareness. Once war breaks out, they could become the most powerful and fearsome armed force of the Communist army! And that kind of large fishing boats can carry a company of Chinese Communist troops, as well as heavy machine guns, mortars, and small shoulder-fired missiles.
However, Zhang Lin also said that these unprotected fishing boats could easily be wounded and sunk, with officers and men falling into the water and suffering heavy casualties. But from the tactics of the sea of men to the tactics of the sea of ships, the Chinese Communist Party still has the same mindset, trampling the military and civilians as molehills and dumping them as cannon fodder, not caring about the level of casualties, as long as they can seize victory.
In view of this, the U.S. military in the South China Sea, has long issued a clear warning: under no circumstances Chinese fishing boats can approach U.S. warships, or they will be sunk without warning!
