Niu Tengyu and 24 other young people, including nine minors, were sentenced in the case of the leak of information about Xi Mingze, the daughter of Xi Jinping. The incident was exposed through the media and sparked international attention. Nine human rights officials from the U.S., German and other embassies in Beijing met with Niu Tengyu’s mother to discuss the case.
After the leak of personal information about Xi Jinping’s daughter Xi Mingze and brother-in-law Deng Jiagui was exposed online overseas, police in Maoming, Guangdong Province, arrested a large number of members of “Vulgar Wiki” in the mainland. 24 young people were sentenced in late 2020, including 20-year-old Niu Tengyu, who was given a heavy 14-year sentence.
Xiao Yanrui, the founder of “Vulgar Wiki,” has spoken out on behalf of Niu Tengyu, revealing that the public security officials in charge of the case sent yin and yang documents to the Communist Party’s Guangdong Provincial Public Security Bureau and the Communist Party’s Ministry of Public Security to frame Niu Tengyu as the main culprit. The personal information of Xi Jinping’s daughter was purchased from within the police and had nothing to do with the 24 young people.
As a result, Guangdong police went to Chongqing to detain Xiao Yanrui’s mother, intimidating her into silence.
Xiao Yanrui said that the personal information of Xi’s family was first disclosed by the overseas websites “Red Bank Foundation” and “Chinawiki,” and “Vulgar Wiki” shared the link. The public security officials in charge of the case could not catch the overseas exposer, so they arrested 24 young people as “scapegoats”.

On April 13, Niu Tengyu’s mother made public that two weeks earlier, on March 30, nine human rights officials from the embassies of the United States, Germany, the European Union, France, the United Kingdom, the Netherlands, Sweden, Switzerland and other countries met with her to express their high level of concern about the “Vulgar Wiki” case. They expressed their deep concern about the “Vulgar Wiki” case.
Niu Tengyu’s mother told the officials about the unjust case in Maoming, Guangdong Province, where the public prosecutor and the law teamed up to create the case.
She said, “They were shocked to hear that 24 school-age children were scapegoated by the Maoming task force, illegally detained in secret and tortured horribly, especially Niu Tengyu, who was maimed and heavily sentenced. They asked for some details.
Niu Tengyu’s mother said: She said that when Niu Tengyu was first arrested, the air conditioning was turned down and he was beaten into the aisle. According to Niu Tengyu’s mother, the case stretched for more than a year from arrest to sentencing, during which the parents kept silent about the case because they believed the authorities, and only after the children were wrongly sentenced did they begin to defend their rights, writing letters over and over again, but with no recourse.
As the public opinion fermented, several embassies in China took notice of the case and invited Niu Tengyu’s mother to meet with them.
According to sources, the U.S. and Canadian embassies in China want the parents and lawyers to provide a list of the torturers, the prosecution and the court, and do not rule out sanctions against them under the Magnitsky Human Rights Act.
The human rights lawyer in Beijing, Bao Longjun, one of the lawyers representing Niu Tengyu, said that the whole “Vicious Wiki” case, in which the public prosecution and law enforcement teamed up to fabricate an unjust case and torture 24 young people, is a serious human rights violation that deserves the attention of the international community.
Bao Longjun said that the Guangdong authorities had concocted the unjust case in order to please the top leaders of the country and use the children as a platform for their own promotion, and the case continued to ferment in the international arena. It is a very bad act to smear the top leaders of the country, but it plays the role of “high level black and low level red”.
The company’s lawyers have been working with the Guangdong Maoming Maonan Internet Police Brigade to sue the relevant authorities over the torture issue.
In May 2019, the personal information of Xi Mingze and Deng Jiagui came to light, and in June the Chinese Communist Party’s Ministry of Public Security set up a task force to arrest dozens of young people, with the Guangdong Maoming Maonan Internet Police Brigade as one of the units handling the case. 2020 On Nov. 2, the “Vicious Wiki” case went to trial, and on Dec. 30, 24 young people were sentenced.
Among them, Niu Tengyu was accused of being the main offender and was sentenced to 14 years and a fine of 130,000 yuan. During a meeting with his lawyer, Niu Tengyu revealed that he was beaten by the neck and had his genitals burned with a lighter.
The second trial judge, Zhang Shuming, was reportedly involved in the first trial conviction and sentencing. Earlier the court of second instance urged the lawyers representing him to submit defense arguments, and the lawyers suspected that the court intended the second trial to deliver the sentence in writing and in secret.
