Sand and dust storms appeared again in Beijing on March 28.
From April 12, many provinces in the north of the mainland will encounter three rounds of sand and dust weather, with some provinces experiencing dust storms, and air quality in Beijing, Tianjin, Hebei and other regions will also be affected.
According to the latest forecast, the northern region may encounter three rounds of sand and dust weather in ten days from April 12. According to the mainland Central Weather Station website on April 12, affected by cold air gale, is expected to 12, 13, Xinjiang South Xinjiang basin and east, central and western Inner Mongolia, western Gansu, northern Ningxia, northern Hebei and other parts of the region have sandy or floating dust weather, western Inner Mongolia north and Xinjiang South Xinjiang local dust storms; 14 to 16, central and western Inner Mongolia, eastern Northwest China, northern China, the Northeast China from west to east will also have dusty weather; 19 days before and after, the southern Xinjiang region and the northwest will again appear sandy and dusty weather.
China’s official environmental monitoring WeChat 12 said, is expected to 12 to 13, Xinjiang South Xinjiang East, central and western Inner Mongolia, Gansu Hexi, Ningxia and northern Shaanxi areas will appear sand and floating dust weather. The sand and dust will also have an impact on air quality in the Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei region, and it is expected that local places in the northwestern part of the region may experience elevated PM10 concentrations for a short period of time.
Data from the mainland’s Central Weather Bureau show that the high incidence of sand and dust weather on the mainland is mainly concentrated in March to May, while April has the most dusty weather, with an average of 4.3 times. It is reported that this year, since March 15 to the current dusty weather, the mainland has experienced six dusty weather.
Earlier (March 15), the strongest sand and dust storms in the past decade appeared in many provinces of the mainland, involving central and western Inner Mongolia, Ningxia, northern Shaanxi, northern Shanxi, northern Hebei, Beijing and many other places. March 18 the round of sand and dust storms advanced south to central China and the north-central Yangtze River Delta, and the influence of southerly winds back to the phenomenon, again affecting many provinces in the north of the mainland.
March 24, the central and eastern parts of Inner Mongolia, northeast, Gansu, Hexi, Beijing and other sand and dust weather. March 27 to 28, Xinjiang, Inner Mongolia, Gansu, Qinghai, Beijing, Tianjin, Hebei and other places appear sand and dust weather, of which, Hebei, Beijing, Tianjin, Inner Mongolia and other places have sand and strong dust storms.
March 29, southeastern Inner Mongolia, Tianjin, central and southern Hebei, southwestern Shanxi, Henan, Shandong, northern Suwan, southern Xinjiang basin and eastern Xinjiang, northern Gansu, Ningxia, central Shaanxi and other places with sand or floating dust weather, this time from the north south to the Huai River line.
On March 30, Shanghai was enveloped by sandy and dusty weather. At least 11 provinces and regions on the mainland that day is still sandy and dusty weather, namely the eastern and southern Xinjiang basin, northwestern Qinghai, western and central Inner Mongolia, western and eastern Gansu, Ningxia, central Shaanxi, southwestern Shanxi, southern Hebei, Henan, northern Anhui, north-central Jiangsu, Xinjiang also continued to be sand and dust storms.
