Assassination of prominent journalist with silenced weapon shocks Greece! Prime Minister orders a quick investigation

Giorgos Karaivaz, a well-known Greek social journalist, was assassinated by two gunmen on a motorcycle with silenced weapons in front of his home in Athens, killing him with at least six bullets and sending the suspects on their way. The death of Karavaz has rocked Greece and Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis has ordered a swift investigation.

According to the BBC, Karavaz, who currently works for broadcaster Star TV and news blog bloko.gr, was driving home after work on the 9th, when he was assassinated while getting out of his car in front of his house. The police revealed that although more than 10 shell casings were left at the scene, but the suspect’s method of committing the crime was quite professional.

A spokesman for the Greek government said that Karavaz’s death shocked everyone, while media organizations stressed the need to find out whether he was killed because of the case currently under investigation, which is understood to involve organized crime and corruption.

This is the European Union since three years ago Slovak journalist Kuciak (Jan Kuciak) was killed for investigating corruption, after another journalist was assassinated, the EU Executive Committee President Ursula von der Leyen (Ursula von der Leyen) pointed out that it is necessary to provide justice for this despicable murder.
