China National Offshore Oil Corporation (CNOOC) is located in the Bohai Bay Penglai 19-3 oil field, recently a blowout fire accident, three people missing nearly 100 people were evacuated. However, CNOOC announced the incident only four days after the accident occurred. Sources said that the fire has continued to burn until now and has not been extinguished.
At noon on April 9, CNOOC issued an announcement saying that in the evening of April 5, the Penglai 19-3 oil field in Bohai Bay, in the process of drilling operations shallow gas overflow, followed by pressure well operations disposal, the process of uncontrolled well blowout on fire.
It is pointed out that the platform site fire, rolling black smoke, there are several ships wandering around the sea.
At the time of the accident, there were 102 people at the platform site, 99 were evacuated that night, and three others were missing.
The announcement said the fire was extinguished on April 6. At present, there is no crude oil leakage and it does not constitute an environmental pollution incident.
However, Caixin said that the fire was still not extinguished on the 8th, and the upper facilities of the platform were severely damaged, and it is not clear how much crude oil was leaked.
The Penglai 19-3 oilfield belongs to the Bohai oilfield. Last year, the Bohai oilfield produced 30.7 million tons of oil and gas equivalent, ranking among the top ten oil and gas fields in China. Among them, 28.3 million tons of crude oil was produced.
The Penglai 19-3 oilfield has had several accidents in the past, including a well surge accident on June 17, 2011, which caused a large amount of crude oil and oil-based mud to spill into the sea, resulting in the pollution of about 6,200 square kilometers of surrounding waters and causing marine ecological damage of RMB 1.683 billion.
