The Gateway Pundit reported Wednesday 7 that Mr. Trump said in a statement that morning that “Congressman Matt Gaetz never asked me for a pardon. It is important to remember that Gates has completely denied the allegations against him.” In late March, the New York Times launched a hit piece on Gates based on selective leaks from the corrupt Justice Department that the Florida federal congressman was under investigation for dating a 17-year-old girl.
Gates told Fox News host Carlson that same day that “former Justice Department official McGee tried to extort $25 million from him and his family in exchange for making the horrific sex trafficking charges against me go away. Our family approached the local FBI, who and the Justice Department were so concerned about it that my father put on a wire and made contact with the extortionist.” Gates pointed to this New York Times article, which resulted solely from the extortionists knowing about the ongoing extortion investigation and intentionally leaking the information.
On Tuesday 6, the New York Times rolled out another hit piece on Gates, saying that Gates asked Trump for a “blanket preemptive pardon” for himself and unidentified congressional allies.
President Trump’s statement on Wednesday punctured another big lie from the mainstream media.
