U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) announced that California Border Patrol agents arrested a suspect early Wednesday morning (April 7) who was a member of the MS-13 gang and had illegally crossed the border into the United States.
According to U.S. Customs and Border Protection, a law enforcement officer in the San Diego area was searching for “a group of illegal aliens” in the mountains at about 12:45 a.m. Wednesday, Foxnews reported. “Six men were found “near the border wall.
All of the men admitted, upon questioning, that they had entered the United States illegally, the law enforcement agency said. They were later arrested.
Customs and Border Protection said that while checking in at a nearby border patrol station, agents discovered that one of the men was “a registered MS-13 gang member.”
The agency said the man is a 28-year-old Salvadoran and three of the other five are from El Salvador, one is from Mexico and one is from Honduras. They will all be repatriated to their home countries.
Instead, on Wednesday, the White House defended Vice President Kamala Harris, who was assigned by President Biden to head the southern border crisis.
White House spokeswoman Jen Psaki was asked at a news conference Wednesday about the vice president’s recent trip to Chicago (rather than the southern border). Psaki explained that the vice president visited Chicago to discuss COVID, and the importance of communities getting vaccinated and inoculated.
