A 13-year-old girl from Rizhao, Shandong Province, recently posted a video asking for help to the Internet. In it, she tells the experience of being tricked by her classmates to drink and raped in a restaurant. The girl also said that not only did she not receive help in reporting the incident, but also suffered secondary injuries, so she had no choice but to seek help from outside. Local police acknowledged that someone had called the police and said they were still investigating.
The video has been circulating since April 7. The girl, uncovered, is holding a piece of cardboard with her name, ID number, home address and phone number. She said she was invited to dinner on March 15 and forced to drink by a classmate, after which she was raped by a male in his 40s. After the incident, the perpetrator threatened the girl’s family not to speak out, and after the girl refused to go private, the parents actually beat their own daughter for fear of expanding the incident.
The girl kowtowed in the video and said, “Please expose, please help”.
The news quickly aroused concern, and on April 7 it was reported that the girl’s sister had learned that she had “gone to the police to report the incident, but had been hurt twice, and the police were rude and did not file a case, and no one has been in charge so far”.
The sister said that on March 25, the girl’s classmates introduced her to a friend, Cao Xinyu, who invited her out to dinner and said “a big brother is treating us”, the girl did not agree, but that night Cao Xinyu, through one of the girl’s classmates, called her and lured her downstairs, where she was forcibly taken by Cao to a private room in a restaurant on Fuhai Road, a food street, in a Volkswagen car.
In addition to Cao Xinyu, there were three people the girl knew, Pan Chao, an unknown triad “big brother” and the man who later raped her.
The girl was robbed of her cell phone and forcibly plied with alcohol, and at 0:00 a.m. the next morning, the drunken girl was raped in Rongan Holiday Apartment.
The girl and her family were then threatened by Pan Chao and the triad “big brother” door to door, “to put this thing rotten in the stomach, the police is useless, the police station we also have people, if the police let you live”, the other side also gave the girl’s parents some money. The girl in the evening of March 29, in the sister accompanied by the police. The sister revealed, “The police attitude is very bad, brutal attitude. The next day, when the police took my sister to the hospital to get evidence, a random doctor took a sample, and the report was not shown to us. In the evening (March 30), after the statement was taken at six o’clock, we were sent home to wait, and no one has given any news until now.”

After the incident sparked public attention, Rizhao City Public Security Bureau Donggang Branch posted on Weibo on April 8 that “further investigation is underway” and asked netizens to “stop spreading information about the video and other related information” in the name of involving minors.
On overseas social media, there are many voices sympathizing with the girl, criticizing her parents and calling for strict punishment.
