Super nuclear battery is here: can safely operate 28,000 years

A California company called Nano Diamond Battery (NDB) is known to be developing a radioactive battery that is “completely safe” for humans and will “change the world” in the future.

The battery’s developers explain that the nuclear waste-powered battery could sustain a spacecraft or a hospital for 28,000 years without the need to recharge or replace the battery during that time.

NDB hopes to begin selling the battery to commercial partners, including space agencies on long-cycle missions, within the next two years.

In addition, the company is developing a consumer version of the nuclear battery that could be used in smartphones or electric cars to supply power for up to 10 years without recharging.

The company did not disclose pricing details at this time and said the product is still in the development stage.
