Xinjiang Corps Fourth Division farms outbreak of African swine fever

The African swine fever epidemic on the mainland continues non-stop. According to the latest news, an epidemic of African swine fever occurred in a farm in the Fourth Division of the Xinjiang Production and Construction Corps, with 33 heads of disease and 6 deaths.

The Ministry of Agriculture of the Communist Party of China website news, April 5, the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Affairs received a report from the China Animal Disease Prevention and Control Center, a farm in the Fourth Division of the Xinjiang Production and Construction Corps, an outbreak of African swine fever. The farm had 599 pigs in stock, 33 were sick and 6 died, and the pigs were culled in the infected site.

The African swine fever epidemic has continued non-stop since its occurrence in mainland China in August 2018, with several outbreaks occurring one after another this year.

On the 27th of last month, an African swine fever epidemic was detected in Changsha County, Changsha City, Hunan Province, from the seized pigs illegally transferred from other provinces; on the 24th of the same month, an African swine fever epidemic occurred in a pig farm in Yining City, Yili Prefecture, Xinjiang Province; on March 9, an African swine fever epidemic also appeared in a batch of pigs transferred from other provinces in Huaying City, Sichuan Province; and on March 2, an African swine fever epidemic was announced to have been detected in Funing County, Yunnan Province.

In the evening of January 21, a new strain of African swine fever was found in a large pork producer, New Hope Lukoil, in Meizhou, Guangdong Province.
