The Breitbart News reported Friday that MLB is preparing to move the All-Star Game out of Atlanta, Jo. on the pretext that Jo. law requires residents to use their ID cards to vote and is not enough of a human right. Major League Baseball (MLB) has a player development center in Communist China, and the Communist country doesn’t even allow people to vote, so why haven’t we seen any movement by MLB to pull the player center out of China?
After the Georgia legislature passed an election integrity bill that limited the number and location of drop boxes, reformed voter ID requirements, and modernized the state’s voter rolls statewide, MLB responded by canceling the All-Star Game from Atlanta, Jo. because, “Major League Baseball fundamentally supports the right of all Americans to vote and opposes restrictions on ballot boxes restrictions.”
According to the Atlanta Journal-Constitution, the move could cost the city of Atlanta tens of millions of dollars, with the economic impact falling primarily on “predominantly black Atlanta businesses.”
The U.S. government has accused the Chinese Communist Party of committing genocide against the Muslim minority Uighurs and has an appalling human rights record, but neither has forced the MLB to pull their academy in China, and Breitbart News finds the contradictory stance the MLB has taken on human rights worrisome.
