A statement by Swedish company H&M last year refusing to use Xinjiang cotton has been rehashed by the Communist Party’s affiliated organization, the Central Committee of the Communist Youth League, and has set off a wave of boycotts in China, affecting international fashion brands such as Nike, Adidas and UNIQLO.
