Analysts pointed out that several major household paper leading brand proposed price increases, basically in more than 10%.
A number of mainland household paper enterprises have recently issued a wave of price increase letter, intends to April full price increase.
First Financial reported that the well-known mainland paper company Zhongshun Jielou issued a price adjustment notice letter to dealers and pipeline merchants to significantly adjust the prices of its household paper products from April 1. Almost back-to-back, household paper companies such as Vinda and Qingfeng also issued price adjustment letters, proposing to raise the prices of their products starting from April.
Zhang Xiao, chief analyst of the light industry of the Great Wall Securities, pointed out that several major household paper leading brand proposed price increases, basically in more than 10%.
Qingfeng brand paper price increase notice pointed out that recent pulp prices have been climbing, now needle-leaf pulp has reached RMB 7,400 per ton, broad-leaf pulp to 6,400 yuan, futures prices are higher. Pulp prices this year are estimated to exceed the 2017 peak of RMB 8,900 per ton.
According to CRE Securities, raw material pulp prices continue to improve and the supply and demand pattern drives the boom up.
In addition to mainland players, Kimberly-Clark, one of the world’s largest tissue producers, also announced Wednesday that the company has informed customers in the U.S. and Canada that price increases for most of its North American products will be in the mid-to-high single-digit range and are expected to take effect from late June.
